Boom Bap Atlanta: Hip Hop 50 Fest Celebrates Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary During BeReggae Music & Arts Festival Weekend

Boom Bap Atlanta, in collaboration with The Hype Magazine , is proud to announce the Hip Hop 50 Fest, a three-day celebration of the culture, artists, and community that love and created the biggest movement in modern pop culture history. The festival will take place at Park Tavern and the adjoining Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia from August 11th to 13th, in conjunction with the BeREGGAE Music & Arts Festival Weekend.

The Hip Hop 50 Fest offers both a free experience and a ticketed experience to cater to a wide range of audiences. The free experience will be held on the lawn in Piedmont Park and will feature a picnic atmosphere with merchandise vendors and hip hop music playing directly from the event hall. The ticketed experience, held inside the premium event space at Park Tavern, will present intimate performances and engagements by hip hop legends and underground heroes alike.

The festival’s schedule includes exciting events each day:

Friday, August 11th: The Hype Magazine 21st Anniversary Party & The Grassroots Seminar and Concert Series with The Digital Cover Unveil celebrated 50 Years Of Hip Hop.
Saturday, August 12th: A Tribute to the Influence of the Native Tongues
Sunday, August 13th: Beats & Lyrics & Flow & Substance

Joining forces with Boom Bap Atlanta and The Hype Magazine at the HIP HOP 50 Fest is set to be a momentous occasion honoring the official 50th anniversary of hip hop. The festival invites hip hop enthusiasts to come together at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia from August 11th to 13th. In addition to the Hip Hop 50 Fest, attendees can also enjoy the BeREGGAE Music & Arts Festival, the largest reggae festival in the South. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, this three-day extravaganza will unite audiences of all backgrounds in a free and fun-filled environment at Atlanta’s crown jewel, Piedmont Park. This year’s festival will also feature:

• The 2nd Annual Self Care Sanctuary, featuring mental health & wellness professionals, midwifery experts and doulas, meditation experts & more, hosted by the Reproductive Justice Resilience Project. August 11th – 13th.
• Friday August 11th is the 3rd Annual ATLANTA NITE at Piedmont Park. The yearly celebration of 80’s and early 90’s Atlanta culture highlighting the influence of DJ’s, RNB Music and team dance performances and how they shaped pop culture.
• DJ MARS Summer of Love Session: The world renowned dj for mega stars Usher, Monica and more brings his soulful Summer of Love tour to Atlanta Nite at Piedmont Park. With surprise guests.
• DJ KIZZY ROCK Presents The Old Atlanta Experience: Before there was Lil John, before there was Jermaine Dupri, There was KIZZY ROCK. The Atlanta Legend and one of the founders of original Atlanta hip hop culture brings you a trip down memory lane that will shake your soul and move your entire body. Part family reunion, part southern revival, part neighborhood cookout, ALL ATLANTA.
