MTN DEW’s Real Change Challenge Continues Empowering HBCU Gamers

Remember when gaming was just something to do?! Well, there’s an exciting initiative by MTN DEW to support HBCU gamers and address the lack of diversity in professional gaming. The Real Change Challenge, a nationwide tournament specifically for HBCU gamers, returns to provide an opportunity for HBCU student gamers to showcase their skills and potentially enter the world of professional gaming.

Mountain Dew Real Change Challenge

For the 2023 MTN DEW Real Change Challenge, the brand has partnered with Cxmmunity Media, RDCWorld, and Mortal Kombat 1 to help shine a spotlight on HBCU student gamers and support their journey to the pros.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off on October 2nd, aligning with the homecoming season. Interested students can sign up for the competition between now and September 8th by visiting hbcuesports.co/realchange. The prize pool for the tournament amounts to $500,000, with a generous 1st place prize of $45,000.

Fans of gaming and the HBCU community can watch the action unfold on the Cxmmunity Media Twitch Channel beginning October 2nd, and find out who will emerge as the champion of the 2023 MTN DEW Real Change Challenge. It’s a great initiative that supports diversity and provides a platform for talented HBCU gamers to showcase their skills on a national stage.
