0Courtroom Drama ‘All Rise’ from OWN Returns
The Oprah Winfrey Network has announced that the one-hour courtroom drama series “All Rise,” featuring Simone Missick as the star and executive producer, will be returning for its final 10-episode season on Saturday, September 16, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The show, produced by Warner Bros. Television, has been nominated for the NAACP Image Award and offers a close-up perspective on the lives of individuals operating within the justice system within a bustling Los Angeles courthouse. The upcoming season picks up immediately after the events of the high-stakes Smash and Grab case, which caused chaos in the courthouse and left numerous lives hanging in the balance.
Tina Perry, the President of OWN, remarked, “We take immense pride in the empowering representation of accomplished Black female characters that All Rise has brought forth. Our appreciation extends to the entire creative team, as we acknowledge the exceptional contributions of the talented cast and crew to this series.”
The ensemble cast of “All Rise” includes Simone Missick as ‘Judge Lola Carmichael,’ Wilson Bethel as ‘Mark Callan,’ the Deputy District Attorney and best friend of Judge Carmichael, Jessica Camacho as ‘Emily Lopez,’ a public defender, J. Alex Brinson as ‘Luke Watkins,’ a bailiff-turned-public defender, Ruthie Ann Miles as ‘Sherri Kansky,’ Lola’s judicial assistant, Lindsay Mendez as ‘Sara Castillo,’ a victim advocate, Lindsey Gort as ‘Amy Quinn,’ a defense attorney, and Marg Helgenberger as ‘Judge Lisa Benner.’ Notable recurring cast members include Samantha Marie Ware as law clerk Vanessa “Ness” Johnson, Paul McCrane as Judge Jonas Laski, Suzanne Cryer as Deputy District Attorney Maggie Palmer, Roger Guenveur Smith as Judge Marshall, Christian Keyes as Robin Taylor, and Ian Anthony Dale as Louis Bravo.
The executive producers of “All Rise”, are Dee Harris-Lawrence, Simone Missick, Michael M. Robin (an Emmy® winner), and Len Goldstein. The series, produced by Warner Bros. Television, received an Outstanding Drama Series nomination at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards and the 2020 Black Reel Awards for Television. Simone Missick was also recognized with nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at the NAACP Image Awards and the Black Reel Awards for Television in both 2020 and 2021.
