Mr. HUBB & CL Smooth Join Forces for New Single: “Grown Man Business”

In an exciting collaboration, New Jersey-based community leader, mental health advocate, and artist Mr. HUBB, also known as Al-Tariq Best, has teamed up with Hip Hop legend CL Smooth to release their latest single, “Grown Man Business.” This track is featured on the soundtrack for Bruce Willis’ final film, “Assassin,” which was released earlier this year by Saban Films.

Continuing Success

This release follows Mr. HUBB’s recent single, “Legacy,” featuring fellow ThatHUBBLIFE ENT artist Penelope. “Legacy” premiered in Straight Official Magazine and followed the success of his 2022 hit single, “Grown Man Ishhh,” which was exclusively premiered by HipHop-Vibe and HipHopSince1987.

A Multifaceted Artist and Advocate

In addition to his music career, Mr. HUBB is a well-known leader and mental health advocate in his Newark, NJ community. He serves as the CEO and Founder of The HUBB Arts & Trauma Center, a facility dedicated to helping at-risk youth and high-risk individuals deal with mental health issues and trauma through therapeutic arts.

ThatHubbLife ENT: A Different Approach

Mr. HUBB recently launched ThatHubbLife ENT, a socially responsible entertainment company that not only assists artists in releasing their music but also provides a strong support system. Unlike many mainstream labels, ThatHubbLife ENT prioritizes the long-term mental health, safety, and success of its artists.

Making an Impact on the “Assassin” Soundtrack

The opportunity to have songs from ThatHubbLife ENT artists featured on the “Assassin” soundtrack is significant not only for Mr. HUBB but also for Penelope, who recently released her single “Body Keeps The Score” from the same soundtrack. This exposure highlights the excellent work being done by ThatHubbLife ENT and The HUBB Arts & Trauma Centre.

CEO’s Perspective

When asked about this achievement, ThatHubbLife ENT CEO Donald Richardson stated, “Having placed two songs on the ‘Assassin’ movie soundtrack starring Bruce Willis—’Body Keeps The Score’ by Penelope and ‘Grown Man Business’ by Mr. HUBB and CL Smooth—brings my contribution to the soundtrack full circle. It was inevitable to see that collectively we created a socially impactful and important record. I hope the world enjoys them both.”

The Message Behind “Grown Man Business”

Mr. HUBB shares the deeper meaning of his new single, saying, “Writing the ‘Grown Man Business’ verse began with me wanting to challenge men to step up and handle their business but morphed into me doing ‘My Work’ to heal from childhood trauma and to use a moment of vulnerability for a bigger purpose. It’s now also another teaching tool to support other men to scale up from little boy shit to handling Grown Man Business!”

From Trauma to Transformation

Growing up in Newark, NJ, Mr. HUBB faced numerous challenges, including witnessing domestic violence and experiencing trauma himself. He acknowledges his journey from trauma to self-awareness and transformation. Music played a significant role in his life, ultimately leading him to social reform and the creation of The HUBB Arts & Trauma Center.

ThatHUBBLife ENT: Empowering Artists

ThatHUBBLife ENT, LLC, is committed to empowering artists by helping them navigate the entertainment industry, fostering networking opportunities, and promoting arts therapy for self-empowerment. The company aims to elevate artists to the next level and ensure they understand the industry’s intricacies for long-term sustainability.
