ChefDance Social Launches in Style: A Feast of Good Fortune and Leon Bridges Headlining Concert

On January 18th, ChefDance Social set the stage for the Sundance Film Festival with a lavish dinner party, setting the tone for the upcoming Leon Bridges concert presented by Chase Sapphire at The Marquis Park City. This exclusive event, in collaboration with LNE Presents, marked the official launch of ChefDance Social’s new permanent restaurant concept. The culinary helm is under the expertise of James Beard-accredited Chef Shawn McClain, assisted by localized Executive Chef Jordan Harvey.

A Culinary Extravaganza: “Feast of Good Fortune”

The launch dinner celebrated more than the festival kick-off; it honored ChefDance Social founder Mimi Kim’s birthday and the auspicious Year of The Dragon. The curated “Feast of Good Fortune” menu showcased delectable Italian cuisine, featuring courses that delighted the senses. The culinary experience reached its pinnacle with a special dessert – Candy Pop Butterfinger Popcorn Panna Cotta, a creation by ChefDance pastry chef Jessie Rae.

Sweet Creations by Jessie Rae

Pastry Chef Jessie Rae, a familiar face in Park City’s culinary scene, crafted a dessert masterpiece. The Butterfinger popcorn flavor from Candy Pop was the star, both inside and as a garnish. Describing the dessert, Rae explained, “The panna cotta is an eggless dairy-based custard, gently set with gelatin, flavored with butter, Candy Pop popcorn, and Butterfinger.”

Culinary Partnership with Shawn McClain

ChefDance Social’s official launch showcased its commitment to elevating Park City’s culinary landscape. Mimi Kim, along with co-founder Kenny Griswold, expressed their dedication to creating a culinary gem that enhances the local food scene. Shawn McClain’s expertise in fine Italian cuisine is at the forefront, with plans to host visiting chefs like Chef Seunghyun throughout the year, offering patrons a diverse range of culinary experiences.

Music and Meet-and-Greet with Leon Bridges

Adding a musical touch to the evening, R&B sensation Leon Bridges engaged in a meet-and-greet with Chase Sapphire VIP cardholders and fans. The festivities continued with a multi-course meal, followed by Leon Bridges’ performance at The Marquis. The dinner party also featured a captivating performance by The Voice finalist, Ryan Innes, who serenaded the guests with multiple songs.

Notable Attendees and Future Plans

Among the notable guests were DJ Paul Oakenfold and F&B expert Adam Cohen, creating an atmosphere of culinary and musical delight. Looking forward, ChefDance Social plans to keep its restaurant dynamic by hosting various chefs throughout the year, promising a variety of exceptional food experiences.

A Special Culinary Gem for Park City

Reflecting on the launch, Mimi Kim expressed, “Park City is a very special and unique place for residents and visitors alike.” The decision to open a permanent restaurant was driven by the desire to contribute to the community. Kim added, “After 20 years of bringing remarkable chefs into Park City for ChefDance, we decided to open a permanent restaurant with Shawn McClain as our culinary partner, offering fine Italian cuisine.”
