Lunar Lace: The Rock/Rap Goth Girlband Blowing Up the Music Scene

The captivating, distinct, and high-energy blend of rap and rock music has riveted the ears of listeners since it first emerged with artists like the Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, and Rage Against the Machine. Nevertheless, long gone are the days of high-top fades and apathetic guitar solos, as countless genres have dominated the music scene over the past 30 years. While it’s difficult to imagine, audiences have yet to hear a band quite as original and explosive as Lunar Lace. The all-female pop-rock group aka girlband has already gained immense social attention with their enigmatic goth punk fashion-fused style, but perhaps the most dynamic aspect of Lunar Lace is their first single, “Drive Me Crazy,” and its accompanying music video, which only just released on March 18.

Lunar Lace is an innovative band comprised of four female musicians. The two lead singers are Bueli and Zion, who have worked closely with producers Jeff Blue, Jacob Bunton, and Ray Garrison. Bassist Kyla has an impressive background, having played bass for well-known artists such as Rico Nasty, Chloe Bailey, and Wyclef Jean, among others. Drummer Tiffani has worked with notable figures like Beyoncé, Rico Nasty, and Teezo Touchdown, indicating a strong presence and skill set in the industry. Lunar Lace has assembled the ultimate team of musicians to sculpt an entirely new sound.

Together, the bandmates were inspired to start this band when they realized that live instrumentation was the ultimate sound that gives real soul frequencies because all of the sounds are natural. As a band, Lunar Lace also wanted to make a statement by creating an all-female, Afrocentric band with a crazy fashion style.

Steadfast on building a cosmic collision of pop rock and rap that’s truly out of this world, Lunar Lace came together with a shared passion for music and a fashion sense to spark the imagination. To begin realizing their vision, Lunar Lace came together with top producer Jeff Blue, an innovative mind who has produced the likes of Macy Gray, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and many more.

The band’s first single, “Drive Me Crazy,” dropped on March 18, and is already gaining incredible traction. Fans are rapidly noticing Lunar Lace’s unique sound and reacting with excitement and anticipation, remarking on Instagram with comments such as,

“Just found you guys, and I’m obsessed…”

“I love this!! The make-up, the vibe, the music, every part!! Get it, ladies.”

“Heard two seconds of this and am already a fan.”

“I just got here… And I think I love y’all.”

Peaking in the top 11 of the rock charts, “Drive Me Crazy” has already skyrocketed Lunar Lace’s publicity, with the group going from a mere 200 followers to over 13,000 in only one week on Instagram. Of course, it’s hard not to love what this group of deeply inspired, imaginative, and creative young women is producing. Lunar Lace will be dropping two more singles, “Blowing You Up” and “Rock The House,” which are already highly anticipated among their quickly growing fan base. Keep your ears ready and your eyes open for Lunar Lace performing at your local venues in Los Angeles and elsewhere on tour this summer!
