Duchess Lattimore of ‘Black Ink Crew’ teaches art to underprivileged children for local non-profits

The popular tattoo artist Dutchess Lattimore, star of ‘Black Ink Crew’ Vh1 reality show offered free art classes for local non-profits that cater to underprivileged families and children.

Dutchess recently inaugurated her own custom body modification and tattoo gallery Pretty-n-Ink, an event that was televised by Vh1. Black Ink Crew is the third-highest rated Vh1 series and is currently in its third season.

“I am so excited and thrilled to be hosting this art class,” Lattimore said. “Art allows you to express desires and also combat your fears, just what children need. I want to make this holiday season special for the children and give back something to the community that has made me what I am today.”

The first of the private events took place on December 21, 2015 at Pretty-N-Ink and featured three art classes.  The classes featured free art supplies for the children to use and get familiar with.  Dutchess Lattimore and staff  demonstrated the various ways different mediums can be used to create pieces of beauty. Refreshments were provided by Drink The Cake Dessert Company accompanied by holiday music.

“I invite people to donate art supplies, like paint, brushes and canvas boards. It is for a good cause and being able to bring a smile on a child’s face is a wonderful gift to receive not just during the holiday season,” Lattimore said.

Those interested in sponsoring the event by donating art supplies can send an email to Narria Rice at [email protected] or call (704) 449-7089.
