MAYAENI Announces Fall Tour Dates With Corinne Bailey Rae, KT Tunstall

Detroit’s Mayaeni has been embracing soulful rock for as long as she can remember. It began with her musician father playing her legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Chuck Berry, which soon became the soundtracks of her life.

“I’ve always had this rock-soul thing going. I can’t escape it,” said Mayaeni.

Now announcing fall tour dates with Corinne Bailey Rae and KT Tunstall, Mayaeni is excited to perform the edgy, raw and emotional songs from her new Elocution EP, released via Roc Nation. Whether it’s the yearning in the mid-tempo anthem “Million N1” or the angst in the clamorous rock-out garage jam “Too Late”, her guitar is definitely crying out.

“I wrote a lot about struggle, not being able to pay rent and having a bunch of jobs, a lot about coping with pain. Hard times, heartbreak,” explained Mayaeni, but through it all her unbridled ambition and a deep desire not to end up back home kept her fighting for recognition.

Coming off of dates with Macy Gray earlier this summer, Mayaeni will be touring with Citizen Cope later this month before hitting the road with Corinne Bailey Rae and KT Tunstall this fall. All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
