Lukas Graham “7 Years” Now Quadruple Platinum, Debut Album Certified Gold + MTV EMAs, Jingle Ball and more

Lukas Graham, whosemusic has been streamed worldwide over 2 billion times this year alone, has further solidified its status as one of 2016’s biggest breakout acts with the quadruple-platinum sales of the quartet’s hit single “7 Years” and the gold certification of the band’s self-titled debut album, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has received overwhelming critical acclaim since its April 1st release. The certification makes Lukas Graham one of only four debut artists whose first albums have gone Gold this year. (The others are Kevin Gates, Rachel Platten, and Charlie Puth.)

In addition, the band, led by singer Lukas Forchhammer, will perform at the 2016 MTV EMA Awards, where they are nominated for several awards including Best Song (“7 Years”), Best Push, Best New, and Best Danish Act. Lukas Graham is gearing up to release a new single, “You’re Not There” and for the launch of its second North American headline tour, which kicks off in Vancouver on November 10th and continues through February 1st. All tickets for the tour are available now at http://www.lukasgraham.com/tour. They will also perform on the 2016 #iHeartJingleBall Tour, which begins on November 29th.

Lukas Graham’s success has been fueled by “7 Years,” which topped charts around the world and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with over 585 million Spotify streams and counting. The second single, “Mama Said,” quickly followed in the footsteps of “7 Years,” climbing the Top 20 chart at Hot AC and Top 40, with over 135M streams on Spotify. Lukas Graham has earned critical acclaim from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard and more, and has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, The Billboard Music Awards, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Corden, CONAN and the MTV Video Music Awards, where they were nominated for “Best New Artist.” Additionally, they were selected by Pepsi to be the inaugural artist of The Sound Drop, their new music platform that identifies the next generation of breaking artists.
