Stars Beat St. Louis 3-2 in Overtime At The American Airlines Center

Dallas Stars and  St. Louis began the game with an altercation between 22 Right Wing Chris Thorburn and 21 Left Wing Antoine Roussel. The fight resulted in penalties for both players of five minutes for fighting, ten minutes game misconduct, and 2 minutes for Dallas Stars’ Left Wing for instigating.

1:51 minutes into the first period, the Dallas Stars Defender Esa Lindell received a delay of game 5:02 into the first-period mark, Right Wing Brett Richie of the Stars interfered with Blues Center Vladimir Sobotka. Also at the 5:02 mark, St. Louis Blue’s Patrik Berglund receiving a slashing penalty against Dallas Center Tyler Seguin.  With 6;19 into the first period there is still no score, but the St. Louis Blues have six shots on goal and the Stars have four.

After the first period, both teams remain scoreless with the St. Louis leading the Stars on shots on goal 9 to 6.  Tyler Pitlick 7:04 Mark into the second period scored his 13th goal the season to give the Star 1- 0 lead over the St. Louis Blues. The is assists goes to Left Wing Antoine Roussel.

Blues Center Ivan Barbashev with the tying goal assisted by 29 defender Vince Dunn and 91 Vladimir Tarasenko with the second assist. The Blues take the lead with 12:41 left in the third period on a Jaden Schwartz goal and Colton Parayko with his 26 assists of the year.

At the end of regulations, it is a 2-2 tie going into overtime. Tyler Seguin sends a pass to Jamie Benn, who shoots the game-winning shot in overtime to give the Stars a 3-2 win.

With the win, the Stars improve to 37-23 and with the loss, the Blues fall to 35-26. Next up for the Stars is a home game on Monday against the Ottawa Senators at 7:30 Central at the American Airlines Center.
