No I.D. On-board to Executive Produce Tobi Lou’s Inaugral Album
Tobi Lou’s debut album to be executive produced by No I.D. and released summer 2018
On the heels of the success of his viral release“Troop”, ArtClub International-signee, Tobi Lou, will have his debut album executive produced by the legendary No I.D.
We are excited about this pairing! When asked about the pending musical collaboration, Tobi stated, “I don’t think I even have the proper word that could legitimately describe how excited I am right now. Being from Chicago, ever since I heard Kanye [West] mention NoID on “Last Call” he’s been someone I’ve hoped to work with one day. And now it’s actually happening, so I guess the proper word is surreal, that’s how it feels.” Surreal.
The to-be-named album will also helm Tobi Lou, Taz Askew, and Tobi’s manager/A&R Derrick ‘Lottery’ Hardy as executive producers, and is slated to be released commercially in summer 2018.
About Tobi Lou:
A Nigerian immigrant raised in Chicago, Tobi Lou‘s an imaginative rapper-singer that latched on to music as his form of expression and developed a playful, soulful sound, as heard on his new video single “TROOP” and his recently released Tobi Lou and the Moon EP. While the EP acted as more of a teaser introducing the young artist, “TROOP” is a giant leap forward with a chorus that grabs listeners and a verse from St. Louis rapper Smino. The Glassface-directed visual, shot by Russ Fraser, accompanies the song, and finds tobi lou in an animated world, surrounded by symbolism that represents his influences – such as the cartoon bear associated with Kanye West, and a cartoon of Pharrell Williams wearing his signature N.E.R.D. hat.
