Dot’s New – So Far Away

Dot (Kate Ellwanger) is known for her unique take on indie electronic and sixties-inspired dream beats. Currently based in Los Angeles, she is the founder and CEO of Unspeakable Records, an all-female label of producers and musicians, and member of artist collective Team Supreme. Her music has been praised by the best in tastemaker media, including features in Pitchfork, LA Weekly, Okayfuture, MTV Brazil, Nest HQ, Rookie, Run The Trap, LARecord, The 405, and more.

“So Far Away” is the perfect soundtrack to summer heartbreak. The song’s dreamy strings, lush vocals and longing lyrics harkens back to an adolescent sense of yearning that feels as ephemeral as it does everlasting. Dot’s unique fingerprints all over this project, as she’s written, recorded, mixed and mastered the entire piece herself. The second single off her upcoming audiovisual album, you can expect a perfectly puzzling and mysterious LP release in the fall on Unspeakable (first single and video can be found here and here).
