As you see yourself, who is Robbi Milan

I see myself as a strong, fiercely independent, talented women. I’m a survivor because I was born with the odds heavily stacked against me and I won. I’ve always been funny, crazy and the life of the party type, I have a kind/free spirit that people tend to take for granted. I’m always nice and kindhearted to people until I see their truth or bad intentions.I’ve had to deal with a lot of jealousy and envy my entire life. I’m a mixture of a no non- sense infused with a tremendous amount of courage who’s very giving and loyal to a fault. I really enjoy roller skating rather it’s indoors or at the beach, I started skating at the age of 3years old my other hobby would be shopping I just love fashion and looking fly! As for travel… That’s the #1 thing on my list when I make it BIG!! I want to live life to the fullest and see the world! I love culture and learning from other cultures.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, specifically comedy?

At the age of 43 I read an article about Lucille Ball and Rodney Dangerfield who finally made it big in Hollywood while being over 40.. Which lead me to doing some soul searching about my life, what I discovered was that before I was a hairstylist at the age of 10. I was first a child model when I was 8 years old, my first modeling job was at The Broadway Department Store by the time I was 12 years old I modeled for a troop called Sophisticated Silk, I even was on the cover of Jive Magazine when I was 13 years old. I’ve always been a goofy, silly type of kid. I can remember the first person telling me that I should be a comedian even though she liked the way I do hair, she said I missed my calling. Shortly later I had a client who was Mike Epps manager and she told me that I was funny and encouraged me to write down my jokes.

What and/or who influenced the acting style of which you bring to the stage (mic)?

It’s just my TRUTH!! People always tell me that,” I KEEP IT REAL” they also tell me that I am a one of a kind too, I just like being true to myself!

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

Well the doors have just opened up wide with love and support! Unlike what the hair industry was for me.. Cameron Crowe called me “A Natural” and that was enough said, because he knows if you got “IT”!!

What was the biggest obstacle in getting to your current career phase?

Breaking away from client’s in the hair industry, people can be very selfish with the fact that I make them look and feel good, they can cling on to you and put a lot of guilt on you. It’s not easy but I’ve been cutting off those guilt cords and determine to pursue my life purpose.

What do you want people to get from your comedy?

I want to inspire people to be their best in life! My life can and will be a movie I believe I will win an Oscar too I’ve been through the fire and I did not get burned.

Any new projects in the works?

I’m launching a You Tube Channel called “Oh hair No!’ which will be funny, educational, and engaging.

What do you feel has been your greatest life achievement so far?

Raising a daughter with absolutely NO HELP! I did it all by myself and I was never appreciated or acknowledged for it.

If you could work alongside of or collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

JOAN RIVERS!! I think she was brilliant and true to herself, I’ve come very close to meeting her when I was a hairstylist for E Entertainment Television. I styled her daughter Melissa Rivers hair for the Emmy Awards it was close but not quiet JOAN…

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…`

I faked my labor so that my daughter would have either my birthday or the day after my birthday…It was hilarious!
