Premiere: Neila Drops Video For Lead Single ‘CSYF’

‘Can’t Stand Your Friends’ (CSYF), the latest offering from Atlanta based songstress Neila, calls out fake people who use others for their own benefit.

For Neila the message is personal and comes from having made it through some tough experiences very early in life. “I realized from a very young age that some people manipulate others for their benefit regardless of how it affects anyone – they move for themselves,” Neila says.

This ethos comes full circle for Neila on ‘CSYF’ just at a higher, more intense level. The inspiration for ‘CSYF’ came from Neila dating someone with a particularly shady circle of friends. Neila reflects on this during ‘CSYF’ when she says “why can’t you just see they want what we got? Telling lies on me, they wanna be in your spot”. Ultimately, Neila was pushed out, and the relationship eventually ended.

‘CSYF’ is a story of struggling to find love in the presence of hate.

‘CSYF’ is the lead single from Neila’s EP ‘Sage’ which is available on all digital platforms.
