Desert Daze Announces The Outer Space Programming

Desert Daze: a celebration of music, art, and the transcendence of the human spirit. Beyond The Ritual, we have reached THE OUTER SPACE : a carefully crafted, extensive extracurricular leisure program for all of our visitors to enjoy.

THE THEATRE will be home to a series of Talks and Screenings to keep your cerebral wheels turning. Joining us; Steve Albini, Damien Echols “High Magick” in Conversation, NOISEY Presents Gerald Casale of DEVO “Optical Retrospective” followed by Q&A. Additionally, we invite you to drop in for advance screenings of episodes from VICELAND’s upcoming series “Kentucky Ayahuasca” which provides an exclusive look into the world of a former serial bank robber turned Ayahuasca shaman and the people who seek his help deep in the bible belt of Kentucky.
THE VALLEY OF THE UNBROKEN HORIZON will be fully transformed by our Installation Artists and Projectionists. The hands, hearts, and minds of the artists and craftspeople are those that set the scene for THE RITUAL. Throwing light and color through space, painting your eyes and minds, this years projections will be crafted by Mad Alchemy, Danny Perez, Tachyons+, Chewing Foil, Astral Violet, Snake Chime Zen, Billgazer, Ernav K, Purdy Lites, and Slim Reaper.

Once again we have lifted the inter-dimensional veil and invite you to step into the realm of The MYSTIC BAZAAR. Tucked away in our campgrounds and only accessible to those with camping passes; we have assembled mystics, shamans, healers, teachers, and wanderers from all over the world to share their wealth of knowledge. Programming includes: workshops, ceremonies, yoga, meditations and soundbaths. Additional musical performances by TT of Warpaint, Tess Parks, Entrance, Rishi Acid House Ragas w/ Al Lover, Andy Stavas (of Kiev), Rhythms, and Electric Bell.

In addition to the main musical content, Desert Daze 2018 will conduct a series of special late night programming, including an experimental collaboration between Kikagaku Moyo + Boogarins + JJUUJJUU, as well as full sets by Deap Vally, Lumerians, and Prettiest Eyes (plus more surprises to come).

For visitors who need a respite from the crowds, THE SANCTUARY provides a place of calm tranquility. Each day and night upon entering The Sanctuary, your senses will be consumed. Augmented by a lineup of ambient sound artists including Kid 606, Jonathan Snipes, Gregg Kowalsky, and more. The Sanctuary is curated by Coachella Valley immersive audio-visual artist Cristopher Cichocki of Epicenter Projects, in association with Touch Music and features the return of Circular Dimensions: an ever-evolving synesthetic, audiovisual meditation situated on the fringe of the natural world and human intervention by Cristopher Cichocki.
