Day Day shows early signs of success in new track ‘Checkmate’

The 16-year-old, South West London rapper Day Day comes through with his captivating new release ‘Checkmate’, the second single off his forthcoming project.

With his previous debut single ‘Paid In Full’ making instant waves, Day Day returns with his trademark hard-hitting bars and matter of fact lyricism. Checkmate is an ode to staying one step ahead and always on top of your business.

In a climate where drill music has become so prevalent, Day Day holds his own as a fresh face on the scene proving age is just a number. He engrains into each track he lays down not only the positive experiences he’s run into throughout his life but also the negative, taking the struggles and grittiness of life and moulding it into greatness. With so much more music coming this year and working under newly established urban label Street Dreams, Day Day is set to break.

This release once again shows us exactly why Day Day is quickly becoming one to watch for 2019 – a young, versatile rapper who is rapidly maturing into a forced to be reckoned with. There is no doubt this is a milestone year for Day Day, and if he stays on this path there will be many more to come.
