Who Is Luca Dayz?
LUCA DAYZ is an award winning R&B recording artist & songwriter. Well established and experienced in the game, having performed at venues across the globe. He is currently working with Warner Music Group. Luca Dayz is also the founder and CEO of the renowned international record label Bentley Records.
Also a business tycoon, he has transitioned through his music career into many successful business ventures. Luca Dayz is the President of Luxo Group International & Group Chief Executive Officer to Bentley Records, MIXZtv, LuxoAir, LuxoTravels, XKON Fashions, Luxo HOPE Foundation, etc.
The Hype Magazine got Luca to weigh in on a few things:
From the outside looking in, who is the artist and the man “Luca Dayz”?
Luca Dayz has always been a very humble and grateful person. I was homeless multiple times between the ages of 17-20, which I believe was a valuable part of my youth, because I learned to value things more. Today, at 25 years I’ve learned to appreciate everything I have built, especially looking back at those times. And I’ve always used the power that God has vested upon me to create opportunities for others. And I would continue to do so.
What brought you to the music entertainment industry, music specifically?
I recorded my first demo when I was 13, using a karaoke mic & a kitchen sponge as the pop filter. I used a software called Audacity to record, I still remember. I sent the demo to some label in Switzerland in a CD. So a 13 year old doing this by himself, you can imagine what my dream has always been. So I been doing this for a long time. The path has never been straight, a lot of twists and turns.
At 17 I was fortunate to get acquainted with Grammy winning producer Troy Taylor. This was a big breakthrough at that time. And that really inspired me to make this my full-time career.
What most excites you about making music these days?
I believe the main things is that I want to bring some quality back to music. That’s the philosophy behind my label Bentley Records as well. I feel like music has become so focused on consumerism, people don’t actually invest time and effort into creating the records anymore. That’s what I try to change with my music.
Tell us about your current project and and what it means to you overall?
Quite many project I’m working on at the moment. Working on some really huge features with some very big artists. But I can’t share those details right now.
Also working on a major music project with my friend Mushi who is the President of Spectre Associates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Outside of music I have several other business ventures as well which I’m really focusing on growing at the moment. These include our TV station MIXZtv and my private jet charter company LuxoAir.
Outside of your music, who are some of the artists’ that inspire you?
There’s no such artists per se. I try to learn something from everyone. Everything is art in a certain way. I’m an avid fan of classic compositions as well, and I really try to understand the elements and themes behind them too.
For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?
“Panties On Da Floor”. That’s a ladies favorite 😉
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…
When I was Dubai during one of my tours, a local Sheikh offered me this super strong of Arabic coffee with dates which were sort of wrapped in gold. I ate them, just to say I ate gold!
