Sayyi Releases Inspiring Community Driven Single/Video “Granny”

Partnering up with local community organization Build Chicago to spearhead a social media challenge geared towards fundraising for Chicago schools, Southside native Sayyi is back with an inspirational and heartfelt new single and video called “Granny,” out now via Suretone Records. The songwriter pens an emotional tribute to his grandmother who raised him, shedding light on the senseless violence in his hometown and the trials and tribulations he went through to emerge unscathed. “Stop killing and take a different route,” he says as he praises his grandmother and all matriarchal figures as unsung heroes.
