Hot New R&B Artist SINGLTN Releases New Visual For His Rendition Of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Never Dreamed You’d Leave In Summer’

Back Story – With a dynamic voice, unstoppable drive, and expansive ambition, singer, songwriter, and RB4 Entertainment founder SINGLTN brings timeless soul, sheer talent, and boss acumen to 21st century R&B. After working with everyone from Beyoncé to Josh Groban, he makes his debut in 2020 by delivering a style of his own motivated by an unfiltered personal vision.

At five-years-old, SINGLTN delivered his first solo in church and recognized the potential of his talent. Raised by a military dad, he leveraged a diehard sense of self-discipline in his pursuit of music, spending countless hours practicing and performing wherever and whenever he could. Inspired by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, John Legend, the gospel singer Daryl Coley, and more, he quietly honed his vocals in high school and studied voice at Savannah State University. Relocating to New York, he cut his teeth on corporate gigs before eventually serving as a background vocalist for the likes of Alicia Keys, John Mayer, and Jennifer Hudson. He notably backed Josh Groban everywhere from Good Morning America to late night television. Beyoncé selected him as a performer, and he would be among the Pharaohs who carried her across the stage on the Ladies First Tour.

Along the way, fine artist Kehinde Wiley—renowned for the official Smithsonian portrait of President Barack Obama—tapped SINGLTN as the subject for three high-profile oil paintings which debuted in New York. In 2018, he formally dove into crafting his first original music.

“I wanted to take my experiences and create lasting songs people can relate to and remember,” he explains. “I’m talking about real relationships. I’m part of the creative process from scratch. It’s a universal, but soulful sound that hopefully appeals to everybody.”

In addition to taking the reins creatively, SINGLTN also launched his own label, RB4 Entertainment. After persevering through difficult and unreasonable deals early in his career, he decided to start the company in order to house and release his music and “maintain full creative control.”

SINGLTN kicks off this phase by way of a heartfelt and hypnotic cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Never Dreamed You’d Leave in Summer.” On this rendition, his voice stretches from intimate verses into a robust refrain.

“Stevie was one of the artists that inspired me to sing,” he goes on. “I wanted to do a tribute paying homage to him and his legacy. For me “Never Dreamed You’d Leave in Summer” is Stevie at his best, covering a wide range of emotions in a heartfelt ballad.”

Elsewhere, “Count The Ways” captures the feeling of “loving someone for a lifetime” over a simmering groove. Then there’s the seductive “Skin,” which details “the moment your girl walks out all dressed up and ready, and you’re like, ‘I’d rather go back inside and stay home with you, ya know?’,” he grins.

Meanwhile, the soulfully celebratory “Congratulations” announces, “The player in me has moved on. I found who I want to be with, and I’m off the market.”

In the end, SINGLTN also provides a message as powerful and personal as his voice.

“I’m giving you who I am,” he leaves off. “There’s a message for sure. I want people to walk away realizing I’ve got something to say, and I’m saying it honestly and from the heart.”
