DMV Artist, AkinG Kalld Pedro, Wins First-Ever Contest to Partner with NBA 2k20 for a Music Feature!

DMV native, AkinG Kalld Pedro, submitted his hit single “Traffic Jam” from his album “Surrealism” to Steve Stoute’s United Masters NBA 2k20 contest, and out of 20,000 submissions, his song was 1of 8 chosen to be featured. What does this mean for Pedro and the music careers of other up-and-coming artist? Increased accessibility, more opportunity, and the ability to be heard more than ever before!

Like many other artists, Pedro discovered his love for music during his childhood as he was constantly surrounded by music. Along his ambitious journey to leave his mark in the DMV Hip Hop hierarchy, Pedro has released three projects, and most recently accumulated 13K+ views on YouTube for his song “Traffic Jam” from his album, “Surrealism.”

Pedro was was raised by Nigerian parents on the outskirts of the nation’s capital. He grew up mimicking the music interest of his parents by listening to greats such as Michael Jackson, Fela Kuti, Shino Peters, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Sade and many more.
