Jazzy Mejia Releases New Music Video for “Perfect”

“A quarantine love song.” It sounds like an oxymoron but Jazzy Mejia created just that with her song “Perfect.” Jazzy’s recent EP, Seven24, is a collection of songs that tell the story of her experiences during the lockdown, and the track “Perfect,” is a song of appreciation for all those warm, quiet moments on the couch between you and your partner. Cherishing the small things in a loving relationship, that’s what this music video pushes you to crave in the most delicate way. By filming alongside her real boyfriend, Jazzy Mejia was able to capture moments of genuine intimacy, making it the perfect backdrop for her tender love song.

Writing and producing this song herself, Jazzy Mejia brewed her song “Perfect” into a soothing blend of playful acoustic guitar and her smooth, sensual voice. With her vocals flowing over a soft beat track, Jazzy rides the highs and lows of this song directly into the chorus, and its harmonious layers really make the song come alive. The co-producer of the song, MVXMILLI who’s a great songwriter in his own right, is featured in the last verse where he adds his own perspective on what makes the bond between two people last. The auto-tune on his vocals adds a different dimension to the song, and the way it blends back into the buttery chorus is a standout moment for the track and a testament to both him and Jazzy as producers.

Jazzy Mejia was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in a multicultural family with musical roots. Music has always been a part of her life and having watched her sister, Natalie Mejia’s winning performance on the television show Girlicious at the age of 12, inspired her to start her own female vocal group. She has been in girl groups such as N2ition, LT3, Mejia, and G.R.L., and has toured all over the world before finding her own sound and becoming a solo artist.
