Cydnei Chyan – @cydneichyan

Cydnei Chyan is a singer-songwriter with a soulful tone and a hip hop influence. Born in Indianapolis and raised in Atlanta, she explores the combination of these two walks of life in her music. Always captivated by the authenticity of rap, Cydnei channels this energy into her unique brand of ethereal song-rap. This past May, she released her debut project, Spring Clean, an excellent showcase of her vocal and storytelling ability. On standout track, “FWYT” in her angelic voice, Cydnei reminds the audience that she doesn’t care what anyone’s thinking. She hopes the track will inspire other women to not let the opinions of others get in their way. Cydnei recently released the visual to accompany “FWYT,” a fun, raw depiction of her being carefree. Listeners can expect to see more visuals to follow Spring Clean – and keep an eye out for new music!

Tone Corlyone – @tonecorlyone

Tone Corlyone is 22-year-old artist from the Bronx, New York finding his groove. From experimenting with music from a young age to honing his craft at university, Tone is now finding his stride. We hear this development on his debut project BlueGrin, an 8-track EP named and dedicated to his late brother, BlueGrin. Corlyone’s debut project showcases his musical and emotional range, switching between strong melodies to hard hitting bars. His sound is reminiscent of current trends, featuring almost made-for-Tik-Tok beats. But his careful choices and distinct vocals give his music a unique spin, while still feeling familiar and relatable. Going forward, expect to see new visuals to accompany BlueGrin – as well as new Tone Corleone music, merch, and collaborations. 

Saana- @saana

Saana is an East Coast MC and one of the more consistent artists of the New York underground. Since 2012, he’s released over ten projects – each showcasing a new facet of his sound. Saana uses his captivating raspy voice like an instrument, using its soulful and textured qualities to float over instrumental beats. His latest release, “03 Freestyle” is an excellent showcase of his unique sound. His gloomy writing style mixed with soulful, experimental production can make it difficult to place in any one genre. Listeners should also be on the lookout for Saana’s upcoming project, Candy. Sure to be jam packed with clever bars, soulful samples, and more genre-bending excellence. 

 

DroTheWhale – @drothewhale  

DroTheWhale is an independent Brooklyn artist with a captivating melodic sound. Growing up, he split time between Brooklyn and Atlanta’s west side. He began to write in high school and eventually tried his hand at music, developing his sound and storytelling. Today, we hear a well-developed sound that makes use of fun, experimental melodies and Dro’s catchy affected vocals. Last year, he dropped his debut project, Cheap Vacations, produced and engineered by his brother Dambutta. Standout tracks from the project include “Baggage Claim” and “Left Love” featuring Reign $upreme. His latest release, “O.B.4.R.N.S.” is a soulful rap ballad that showcases Dro’s lyrical ability, in addition to his powerful presence on the mic. This moving track feels like it could only be performed live and unplugged with a mic-stand in true coffee-shop-Chance-the-Rapper fashion. It also serves as a peak at DroTheWhale’s upcoming project Layovers. On it, he plans to take a more introspective take on himself as an artist and explore new sounds. Stay tuned for more from this distinctive young artist from Brooklyn. 


Daniel Boateng – @dannyboysmooth 

Artist and songwriter, Daniel Boateng, goes by the stage name “Danny Boy Smooth.” Growing up in London, England Danny Boy was exposed to music at an early age – deciding early on that he would pursue a career in music. Over the years, he’s dropped a steady stream of tracks and visuals, both originals and remixes of popular songs and beats. His sound is characterized by smooth vocals and a chill flow using storytelling to paint a relatable picture. One of his most notable tracks is “Feel” – Danny’s moving take on XXXTentacion’s “Jocelyn Flores freestyle.” Additionally, he shows off his versatility with more upbeat, fun tracks like the recent “Show Off” or “Playa Playa.” The track featured here, “Playa Playa” details a past toxic relationship over a bouncy, unapologetic beat. Stay tuned for more music from Danny Boy Smooth this summer followed by a project this fall. 


Mike Can Dream – @mikecandream22

Mike Can Dream is a 22-years-old artist out of Yonkers. Mike has been at it for years, with 7 projects out and countless singles. His latest release, “Fly Talk” is a fast-paced track paying homage to the late Nipsey Hussle with a radio-soundbite in the intro. In 2018, Mike got the chance to open up for Dave East at Manhattan’s legendary SOBs. Last year, he also got the chance to work with DJ VIP of All Money Records – as well as the incredible Fred Tha Godson (RIP). This year, Mike Can Dream is living out his dream of starting his own label, known as Y.O. TheLabel after its birthplace. Later this year he plans to drop a project with his new label, followed by his own debut album in 2021. 

Kush Baby 500 – @kush_baby_500

Kush Baby 500 is a rising Canadian artist with a fun,upbeat sound. Growing up in Toronto, hip hop and R&B always played an important role in his life. Citing his inspiration as classic greats like Max B, Jadakiss, the Temptations, and TLC – you can see where he gets his ear for melody. Since his first official track in 2012, he now feels ready for the limelight with his new single “Look At Me Now.” Produced by accomplished producer, JMak GotTheSauce, “Look at Me Now” is a fun bop to get the party going. Accompanied by a high quality visual from director, My Name French, this track is perfect for the summer. Keep an eye on Kush Baby 500 as he releases new tracks and visuals throughout the coming months. 

Luke – @luuuuukkeeeee

Luke is a young rising artist out of NYC. Growing up, he was exposed to a variety of music – from classic rock, to grunge, to class NY hip hop. It was after a 2015 Joey Badass concert that he was inspired to try his hand at music. Today, we hear those diverse influences reflected in his instrumental, experimental rap-rock sound. After spending the last years honing his sound, Luke is ready to start putting his music out. Starting with “For You,” this song details a long night out in LA and and texting someone you may wish you hadn’t. Luke’s upcoming EP, My Friend, is a 12 minute genre-bending experience that he is excited to share with the world. 

 

J Bandz – @jbandz_x

J Bandz is an artist out of Bound Brook, New Jersey. After growing up in Central Jersey, J began making music and turning it into a hustle to help support his mother. His latest single “Body Bag” is a fun, upbeat song punctuated by a strong made-for-tik-tok piano beat . Other standout tracks that showcase his range are the hard-hitting “Jrip” or the melodic “Talkin to Me.” Listeners can expect new singles from J Bandz dropping very soon!

 

 

 

Travdidthat – @travdidthat

Travdidthat is an independent artist, producer, and musician out of The Bronx. Since he first picked up the guitar at age 15, he has developed his musical talent and unique sound. On the production side, he has had notable placements with several artists, as well as with the NBA, various podcasts, and on his own tracks. His latest track, “Finish Line,” is Trav’s self-produced take on NY drill. The song features his signature affected vocals backlit by deep bass and spacey synths. Listeners should check out the accompanying visual for “Finish Line.”  And be on the lookout for new singles from The Bronx’s own Travdidthat.
