Running Touch releases Alt-Rock Single ‘Signs’ from his forthcoming debut album

Melbourne-based producer, songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Running Touch has released the new single, ‘Signs’ alongside live video featuring members of Ocean Grove, Northlane, and Crooked Colours.

One of the easiest ways to describe Melbourne musician Running Touch is to borrow one of his own song titles, two words that seem to encapsulate the musician and his craft: Post-modern.

As Running Touch, he is someone who constantly bends the conventions of sound and genre; a somewhat-enigmatic master-of-all-trades whose work as a musician and and creative director presents fully realized visions that go beyond the scope of just a single release or single project (See: his electronic project ADULT ART CLUB and nu-metal band OCEAN GROVE)

In 2019 alone, Running Touch garnered himself FOUR gold records, hit #1 on the USA iTunes chart with single ‘Better Together with Hayden James, which also won an APRA award for Most played dance work of 2019, released a slew of singles with ODESZA’s label Foreign Family Collective, and teased his latest single off his forthcoming debut album for his recent live performance on Chill Nation’s Room Service Festival. The beginning of a new era for the artist commences with ‘Signs’, a song that gives him the opportunity to refocus on the art that drives his passion for creation.

‘Signs’ is a single that veers away from his more typically electronic-infused sound and a gaze into the work that defined his earlier entrance into music, falling somewhere amongst the indie-pop-rock realm – as the key studio member and founder of Ocean Grove, specifically – brought forward into the future, showing how he’s evolved throughout his career both musically and personally.

The single arrives with the very first instalment of the Post-Modern Collective Sessions, a series of instrument-focused videos to be launched throughout Running Touch’s forthcoming album release that draw focus to the musicality of his often-production-heavy projects. The first – featuring Ocean Grove’s Sam Bassal, Northlane’s Nic Pettersen and Crooked Colours’ Lampy – brings together some of Running Touch’s closest music friends and collaborators in the process, which hopes to create a sense of community amongst like-minded musicians and the fans that underpin their success as musicians and not just artists or band members.

Since the project’s first introduction in 2016, this multidisciplinary creativity has been at the forefront of Running Touch and his art. He takes influences stretched across media formats – live performance, art, design, photography, literature, film – and combines them into a distinct vision that goes beyond music alone, and the results clearly show success.

To add to his list of accolades, Running Touch has remixed ODESZA’s ‘Late Night, been granted a global sponsorship by Fender, as well as secured a number of festival slots around the world including one of his last shows before the world went into chaos for CERCLE with ZHU on top of a mountain in Japan,  His face has been spread across playlist covers on Spotify and Apple Music alike around the world, and regardless of whether it’s paying shows alongside ZHU or touring with ODESZA or Crooked Colours or playing his sold out 3000 cap+ home country headline tours, his shows are an experience you won’t find anywhere else.
