Yo Gotti Delivers Brand-New “Stay Ur Distance” Single

Today, multiplatinum musician and entrepreneur Yo Gotti announced the release of his brand-new song, “Stay Ur Distance” produced by super producer Tay Keith that is available to stream on all platforms HERE via Gotti’s fully-independent CMG label. He will be dropping the corresponding visual for the song at 12 pm ET today that was directed by Ben Marc.

“Stay Ur Distance” comes almost two months after Gotti dropped “Recession Proof” – also produced by Tay Keith – on Independence Day Weekend to celebrate his first single as an independent artist and the new chapter in his career. Earlier this year, Gotti dropped his tenth, full-length studio album – Untrapped – in January 2020, which served as his first album release in three years. Untrapped, which peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, included standout songs such as “Put A Date On It (feat Lil Baby),” “Pose (feat. Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Uzi Vert)” and “H.O.E. (Heaven on Earth).”

The CMG label boss continues to juggle his own music career while building his CMG imprint, which boasts an impressive roster of signed artists including 42 Dugg, Blac Youngsta and Lil Migoand also helps manage MoneyBagg Yo and Blocboy JB.

Beyond his focus on music, Gotti recently announced plans to team up with the REFORM Alliance – Meek Mill, Robert Kraft and Michael Rubin’s criminal justice reform organization – on a radio campaign to continue his fight for prison reform in Mississippi and Parchman prison.

For context, the REFORM Alliance was on the verge of passing a historic Senate Bill 2123 in Mississippi that would have freed thousands of incarcerated people and saved the state an estimated $45 million which could be reinvested into improving prison conditions at facilities like Parchman. After the bill passed through the House and the Senate, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves ended up vetoing the bill.

As a result, Gotti has recorded a radio campaign that will be played in radio stations across the state of Mississippi, calling for local lawmakers to keep REFORM’s bill alive in the state, put pressure on Governor Reeves and help save lives in prisons across the state. A Memphis native with proximity to Mississippi, Gotti has helped procure legal representation for the incarcerated population in Parchman and filed multiple lawsuits against the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) to address the deadly living conditions.

“REFORM and I share the same goals – to protect the people inside of Mississippi’s prisons, fix the dangerous prison conditions that led to several unnecessary deaths and improve the state’s criminal justice system,” Gotti said. “I’m proud to team up with REFORM on this initiative and we hope that Mississippi lawmakers will prioritize this issue and help us save lives.”
