Musician Will Wolfe Discusses His Time in the Music Industry, New Album ‘Something For Everyone’

Will Wolfe is an incredibly talented musician from Oakland, California. Will writes, records, and produces everything himself which makes him really stand out in the music industry. Throughout 2019, Will released singles every two weeks in order to gain traction and gather attention for his LP “Back Seat Drive” – and this tactic definitely elevated his musical influence to a new level. Will has quickly gathered a large fanbase and following composed of dedicated fans around the world.

Will got his start in the music industry by releasing his first album, which helped him build traction and interest from fans. From there he released a few singles, and teamed up with Manimal Records who he says, “definitely helped me form many important connections in the industry.” Will, like many artists, has a number of different people that inspire him musically. John Mayer is one of his biggest inspirations on the guitar. But as of late, he has drawn a lot of inspiration from pop artists such as Harry Styles and Charlie Puth. These musical muses have helped Will up his production value and helped him appreciate new content. In his life, Will believes that what he experiences is reflected directly in his music. Oftentimes, he will write songs hoping to capture a specific feeling that he can share with his listeners. Will also dreams of collaborating with other artists, including Mac Demarco. “I am a big fan of what he does in the studio, and he was my first inspiration,” he dishes, noting that working with John Mayer would also be “a dream come true.”

Despite the current challenges the entertainment industry is facing, Will hasn’t slowed down. In fact, he’s been better than ever and working hard on his craft. Will has been busy releasing new music, and he has just dropped the video for his thoughtful new single, “Saying Goodbye.” The track is an anthem for letting go, and really promising oneself to never looking back, which is a great mindset to have. This mentality has also helped him a lot throughout his career.

Will also recently released an album titled ‘Something for Everyone’ which represents a very long period of his life since, he worked on it over the course of a full year. Will says, “it was definitely hard for me to go so long without releasing music, but I think waiting until the project really felt done was worth it.”

COVID naturally put a wrench in Will’s music career and it has been difficult for him to not be able to perform live, especially with the release of his highly-anticipated new album. However, the pandemic has given him much more time to focus on new music as well as promotion for his current songs. When it comes to the music industry as a whole Will’s advice when it comes to learning every facet of the industry was to not to wait for anyone to tell you “go”. He believes that this mindset can be applied in any situation and we completely agree. Will is unique because he taught himself production on his own so he could have that total creative freedom. Most importantly, Will feels strongly that “at the end of the day, usually, no one’s gonna knock on your door asking for your music, so you need to get out there and push it yourself.”

With vocals paralleling that of his greatest influence John Mayer, Will is the newest name to know in the business. Even though Will is young, his old soul sets him apart from his colleagues, and we will definitely continue to see him soar.
