JoPaul- Verified Artist Creates “Verified” Podcast

When someone has a love and passion for music, they typically find other branches of the industry that entice them. Many begin as artists and flourish into something much bigger. Creatives are problem solvers at heart, utilizing their subconscious to develop masterpieces. Throughout the duration of JoPaul’s music career he has been able to build a fan base due to his obvious musical talent, his strong and outgoing personality, and his ability to adapt to the changes that have occurred over the years. With all of these attributes, JoPaul’s relevancy and unique platform have continued to skyrocket resulting in success.
Initially portraying his talents as a break dancer, JoPaul had the privilege of traveling to different states to perform with his brother. Rapping and dancing in front of large audiences, signing autographs, and receiving hefty profits, enabled JoPaul to foresee his fate as a profound music artist. As his love for music grew, his aptitude to write progressed tremendously. Writing poetry quickly transitioned into lyrics. JoPaul recalls the days where there were no instrumentals. He and his friends would wait for the last twelve to fifteen seconds of a song to display their agile and clever free-styling abilities.
After graduating high school, JoPaul went on to record, “Ten Rules on How You Smoke a Blunt”, released in 1998. It was during this time that Napster and Myspace were the go-to platforms for artists. Furthermore, JoPaul burned CDs ensuring that his project was in everyone’s grasp. A year after the release of his project, JoPaul was offered the opportunity to perform at The Apollo in front of a large audience in which included major artists such as, Nelly, Destiny’s Child, Jay Z, and Wyclef. While performing his song, “Million Dollar Dream”, JoPaul received a standing ovation and praise from Wyclef. Soon after his performance, JoPaul received a phone call informing him that he was the winner of the “Teen People Magazine What’s Next Award”, providing him with a full page write up in their publication. Once published, his father called him and stated, “I’m looking at my son in a full page article! I’m so proud of you!” The entire experience was a turning point for JoPaul as he had made the decision to drop out of college and pursue his music career full time.
Another turning point in JoPaul’s career occurred after one of the most difficult times of his life; the passing of his grandfather. As he entered an airport with plans to travel to Florida, he noticed Ice T standing in the distance. He approached Ice T and stated, “I’ve been down with your sh*t since ‘82”, making it a quick introduction due to the lack of time they had. Ice T then introduced JoPaul to Smooth The Hustla, who had ironically been seated next to him for the flight. As JoPaul and Smooth listened to their CD players, they noticed they were listening to tracks created by the same producer. They exchanged numbers and reconnected upon return to New York. JoPaul and Smooth went on to record a single titled, “All This Time” which obtained over one hundred thousand views on Myspace.
After a devastating break-up, JoPaul decided to take a step back from music and began a new venture. He became the assistant vice president of JP Morgan’s business relations department where he learned the ins and outs of the corporate world, which later assisted him in another endeavor. With the feeling of loss on the rise, JoPaul’s friend visited him to lure him back to his passion. His friend stated, “You can’t give up. I don’t know nothing about the music business but I know music and I know business.” His friend sought after opportunities for JoPaul, adamant about the return of his music. After meeting Ebonics, a producer who worked with Dipset, he began to record an album. Throughout the recording process, JoPaul discovered his new sound. It was then that Jo Paul initiated rebrand. From 2011 to 2012, JoPaul worked diligently to introduce the world to his new image in which he succeeded.
After his re-brand and several projects, JoPaul has become a prominent influencer on Instagram. After becoming verified in 2017, JoPaul was able to reach a larger audience. Recently, he developed a podcast called, “Verified”, where he brings A-List celebs and music industry professionals on camera to discuss their careers, current events, and more. JoPaul utilized his business knowledge to create the perfect platform to take him to the next level while teaming up with Resultsandnohype.com. Reaching well over thirty-five thousand views on a single interview has deemed “Verified” as a podcast that has sent shock waves through YouTube. Viewers apprehensively await the next episode, eager to see who JoPaul converses with next! Speaking with individuals such as Aries Spears, DJ EFN, Lil Haiti, Drumma Boy Fresh, DJ Chubby Chub, Amadeus, and Latin Prince, reveals how exclusive “Verified” is. JoPaul utilizes his vibrant personality, knowledge, and experience in the music industry to directly relate to the heavy hitters he interviews. While discussing the “Verified” podcast with JoPaul, he stated, “I’m able to tell my story while learning yours” which portrays his passion for, not only music, but the person behind it.
As the viewers tune into “Verified”, they are immediately met with a lively introduction, professional visuals, and hypnotizing conversation between JoPaul and his guests. Throughout the duration of each episode the viewer experiences humor, in depth conversation pertaining to past experiences, obstacles, success stories, and education. It is rare I find a podcast that keeps me intrigued from beginning to end.
