Hip Hop Icon known as the “Godfather of Canadian Hip Hop” Maestro Fresh Wes & Veteran Music Producer Dub J made history this past week with their charity single “WISH I COULD” becoming the #1 song in the Country charting at #1 on both the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap Chart & the ALL Genres chart. The history making single brings together some of the hottest Hip Hop Artists in several neighbourhoods from Toronto, and features top Canadian Talent that includes JD Era, JRDNBizz Loc, Turk, Roney, and Jelleestone.  The artists wanted to use their voice to make a difference and raise awareness of increasing Gun Violence in our communities by supporting “Enough is Enough TO” Movement.  The full $1.29 from each iTunes purchase goes directly back into the communities affected by Gun violence.

“I’m extremely proud that this record went #1 on not only the iTunes Hip Hop chart but also on the iTunes ALL Genres chart. Even more important than these charts is that we have proven to the youth in Toronto that you don’t need to rap about guns and violence to win.” — Dub J

There was strength in numbers and that’s what it took for us to reach number 1 – A Classic song and an epic moment for Canadian Hiphop – Maestro Fresh Wes
