Devyn Moon Releases New Music Video, “Remedy”

Houston born, current Austin resident, singer-songwriter and producer, Devyn Moon, has released their first music video of the year for their single, “Remedy.”

The music video, which keeps true to the track’s light electro-pop-house sound, was choreographed and directed by Devyn Moon with help from their close friends, a majority of which are Asian-American (AA) including Kenji Chong. Showcasing their work was an important factor for Devyn Moon, though Asian-American filmmakers and writers have made their way in Hollywood big screens in recent years, she feels that AA are still underrepresented in the music industry. The video has punches of personality with an overall minimalist feel that further proves the intense creativity behind the project.

Devyn Moon on “Remedy”: “I wrote ‘Remedy’ during a time of self-reflection after, pretty much, hitting rock bottom back in 2019. It’s a song about the journey of regaining your own autonomy and healing yourself when you realize you’re the only one who can do so the song also reflects on my own personal struggles and journey with mental health. I hope it resonates with my listeners who are on that path to rebuilding as well, especially during this climate we’re currently in.”

Devyn Moon (also known as LYTA) is a 23-year-old artist, singer-songwriter, and producer from Houston, Texas. Influenced by a blend of R&B, electronic, and bedroom-pop genres helped develop a unique genre-bending style within their own music and sound. Devyn Moon’s debut project has received notable mentions, including being named one of the “Best 10 Albums of Houston” in 2018, next to artists, such as Fat Tony, and was also mentioned as No Vacation’s artist to watch early in their career. Devyn Moon has opened for numerous artists including Shoffy, RKCB, Dorian Electra, and Kina Grannis.

Devyn Moon’s recent collaborations with HOMALS, Luna Luna have set them on a positive trajectory for 2020 as well as receiving recognition from San Holo’s bitbird radio series. Their style has been described as alternatively icy & warm and their songs have been recognized by Billboard, Forbes and playlisted by notable musical curators like SXSW, Ones To Watch, Birp.fm, Aviencloud, and more.
