Live Session with Kacie Willis Host of Spotify’s ‘You Heard Me Write’ Podcast

Spotify’s Sound Up You Heard Me Write podcast is hosted by arts advocate Kacie Willis who brings together Atlanta-based creatives from different disciplines and backgrounds through art. The series has amassed wide popularity, recently trending on the platform. Each episode features emerging writers, musicians, sound designers, and dynamic thinkers who collaborate on a multimedia project, without knowing the identities of their counterparts.

The Hype Magazine got to spend some time with Willis to learn more about the series, what inspired her to do it, and the challenges of creating the 10-episode series which has amassed a large following and is unique in its makeup. With a theatre background, this endeavor was out of her comfort zone but she and her crew pulled it off famously. Tune in!

If you listened to the entire conversation you heard Willis discuss one of the funniest WTF moments during the shooting of the series and sh referenced episode 9 where two of the participants were so leery of being with the rest of the team because of COVID that they asked to me mic’d up and to participate from their cars.
