Equity Distribution and BARS App Announce Winner Of Contest To Find Promising Young Talent

Yesterday, independent distribution company Equity Distribution (EQ) – in partnership with BARS, a new app for rappers powered by Facebook’s internal R&D group, NPE Team – announced artist F3stive as the winner of their five-week contest to find the best rapper on the platform. F3stive, a 23-year old from San Diego who promotes self-assurance via harmonies and punchlines – will receive a distribution deal with EQ, as well as a $5,000 marketing budget to help kickstart her music career.

“At EQ, our goal is always to give artists the tools they need to develop their music career on their own terms,” said Krystian Santini, President of EQ. “We were blown away by F3stive, and are excited about the level of talent and creativity she brought to the table. We’re looking forward to working with her in growing her music career.”

F3stive was selected by guest judge and rapper Moe, who recently dropped his latest collaborative project with legendary producer Zaytoven, Moetoven. The contest itself, which started in March and saw over two thousand aspiring artists enter, was a collaboration between EQ and BARS to scour the platform for promising young talent.

EQ provided exclusive beats to the BARS app from signed producers, including 6points, Yozora and Gelapi. There were a total of three preliminary rounds that took place over a five-week span, with three finalists chosen by BARS and the fourth finalist selected by EQ’s A&R team.
