Who is Donnie B?

Rising independent rapper and nightlife promoter Donnie B is from the Eastside of Detroit who is currently making his steady incline through the streets of Atlanta, he’s been an Atl native for over 10 years. Donnie B is a serial entrepreneur who believes in being a risk taker and aims to break generational curses among him.

Donnie B quotes “I’m big on family and having faith in anything I do along with principals and morals as I go through life”. Beginning his rap career in 2017, Donnie B has made a name for himself in this industry with his “Detroit State of Mind” album hosted by  released back in March of 2021 with his booming song “Bompton 2 Vandyke”. The single drew attention from artists such as The Game & Drakeo. Donnie B continues making his mark as he continues working with artists Tee-Grizzley, Icewear Vezzo, Payroll Giovanni all while telling his story.

Hype: What inspires your music and sound? 

Donnie B: My life experiences inspires my music and sound. I rap about my real life stories.

Hype: Who are your Top 5 favorite artists? 

Donnie B: 50 Cent, Jezzy, Lil Wayne, Blade Icewood, Jay Z.

Hype: Who is Donnie B?

wDonnie B: I’m a leader, CEO, Artist, Omega Man, Serial Entrepreneur, I’m a straight hustler and master manifestor.

Hype: Describe your style of music and the story you are looking to tell?

Donnie B: I make motivational trap music, and music for the ladies.

Hype: You’ve been getting a lot of industry love lately, what’s your importance to the city? 

Donnie B: Well Detroit I’m like that kid that golden child that made it out with all the odds against me. Only person from my entire neighborhood to get to go to college. I’m a example for the Youngins from the bottom.

Hype: You recently released your project, Detroit State of Mind, hosted by DJ Holiday. What’s your focus?

Donnie B: My focus is to stay consistent with my work and continue to grow my brand and my fanbase.

Hype: The single “No Hands Out” that you remixed featuring Tee Grizzley is going crazy, how did that happen?

Donnie B: I reached out to Tee Grizzley on IG and Told him I wanted to work he hit me back and asked my budget and the rest was history.

Hype: The summer is about to be on fire, what are you looking to accomplish this year and make a breakthrough as an independent artist to watch in 2021?

Donnie B: Making sure my business is all the way in order, I have a few movie roles, do some big shows and start to see a profit off my work.

Hype: What does success mean to you? 

Donnie B: Financial,  Freedom, and a peace of mind.

Hype: What’s next for you?

Donnie B: Building my independent label to be one of the biggest brands in the game in music, film and fashion.
