Grammy nominated rapper, songwriter, and producer Belly shares his new album See You Next Wednesday via XO Records / Roc Nation. The album features The Weeknd, Nas, Young Thug, Moneybagg Yo, PnB Rock, Gunna, Nav, Big Sean, Lil Uzi Vert, and Benny the Butcher – allowing raps biggest names and standout newcomers a chance to collaborate. The album title pays homage to acclaimed movie director John Landis, who often incorporates the ‘see you next Wednesday’ phrase in his fictional works. In celebration, Belly had a star studded album release event at Tao LA alongside The Weeknd, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Gunna, London on da Track and more. With this album comes a new song and visual for “Die for It” with The Weeknd and Nas – which premiered on BET broadcast television. The video shows a post apocalyptic cityscape as Belly reminisces on his tenacity and determination that brought him to where he is today. Before this, Belly dropped “Zero Love”, produced by himself, “Money On The Table,” which has over 2.3M streams, and “IYKYK,” – all which received praise from Pitchfork, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Complex and more, with Rap Radar affirming “Belly proclaims his goat status.” His recent drop “Better Believe” went #1 most added at Urban radio and garnered 35M+ global audio streams and 15M+ video views. In 2020, Belly made history when he co-wrote The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” which just broke the all-time record for longest charting song in Billboard Hot 100 history at 88 weeks. His total streams as an artist have reached 1 billion and combined as a songwriter/composer hit 6 billion.
The Palestinain born, Canadian raised rapper, born Ahmad Balshe, entered the music scene in 2007 and has gone on to pen some of the biggest hits in music with The Weeknd, Beyonce and many others. His willingness to share his struggles with mental and physical health has allowed for growth both personally and through his music. With new inspiration, See You Next Wednesday comes in celebration and perseverance through hard times.
