Rock The Bells Invites You to Celebrate Hip-Hop’s Anniversary With the “Father of Hip-Hop” on Aug 11th

Just days after the U.S. Senate passed Resolution 331, naming August 11 national Hip-Hop Celebration Day. (RTB Link) Rock The Bells is announcing a special live streaming experience to celebrate “Hip-Hop’s Anniversary.”

Watch LIVE on @RockTheBells IG at 3pm EST on Aug 11, 2021 starring DJ Kool Herc the “Father of Hip-Hop.”

August 11th is universally recognized as “Hip-Hop’s Anniversary” – a day celebrating DJ Kool Herc’s Back To School Jam in 1973, in the Bronx, and the birth of a new genre. It is a day to celebrate Hip-Hop culture and support the community.

This event is about giving back to the community and they’re raising awareness and resources for the educational organization, New York Edge, whose mission is to help bridge the opportunity gap among students in underinvested communities. Donations support free after-school programs across the 5 boroughs. Link: newyorkedge.org/give

Rock The Bells seeks to build upon DJ Kool Herc’s mission and cement his legacy by connecting Hip-Hop culture to its founding principles of community service and ensuring its origin story and purpose is never forgotten.

Each year Rock The Bells will be partnering with Hip-Hop Icons to celebrate the culture and support the community – From 1973 until infinity.

Help them spread the word and pay homage to Kool Herc, the “Father of Hip-Hop.”
