Getting to Know Philly-Based R&B Artist TJé

Born in the city of Philadelphia, r&b singer TJé and his family moved to Orlando, Florida when he was still a kid. Being exposed to a new diverse environment he was able to experience different kinds of music such as Brazilian and Latin music. Nowadays, TJé listens to a variety of genres including hip hop, r&b, pop, brazilian funk, and latin music. Some of his musical influences that he listens to on a regular basis include Justin Bieber, Drake, Don Toliver, The Weeknd, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, WizKid, pinkpantheress, Maluma, Travis Scott, and Michael Jackson. TJé always had a passion for music, even while he was growing up. He dreamed of being able to create his own music and becoming a music artist. The singer views music as a wonderful and delicate form of art that helps bring people together. But he would always let his own fears get in the way and hold him back. However, like most of us, TJé had a lot of isolated free time on his hands during the 2020 quarantine. He used that time to reflect on his life and realized he didn’t want to live his life with any regrets.

During the quarantine he came to the decision to start pursuing his dreams of a musical career. TJé started spending most of his time in the studio so he could work on his music. And it didn’t take long for the rising r&b singer to release his official debut single, Party On Me. Then he quickly followed up with his Dance With Me single, showing that he’s capable of creating different vibes and sounds. Now TJé is busy working on his upcoming project which is going to be titled Emotions Vol 1. His project is influenced by all of the different emotions he’s been feeling over the past few months. From falling in and out of love to dealing with the loneliness and heartbreak, and of course partying to forget all of the emotions. TJé worked with his friend Choyce to help him with guidance and to help shape the sound of the project. And he only collaborated with one artist named Quise on the track Give Love A Chance.

In the next 5 years, TJé sees himself having a successful music career while giving fans an entire experience that has something for everyone to relate to. He’s aware that not only as an artist but as a person, there’s a need for more understanding and patience. And he understands people need to be capable of showing more empathy in order to help our communities rise and start doing better. TJé believes that it’s important to use your voice as well as your name to help bring more awareness to the various things happening around the world. Especially when you are a person that has the platform to be able to shed light on such things. These are the types of things that TJé keeps on his mind when it comes to his music. So of course you can hear some of that influence in the music that he’s started releasing this year.
