Trae Tha Truth Earns Joe Biden’s Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Contributions to Communities Across the United States

Hosted by Sonia White, USAF Veteran and healthcare worker who brought the 1st ever Historic Presidential Awards to Houston; will honor the community leadership of many incredible people, including Officer Tommy Norman and Houston “Hometown Hero” Trae Tha Truth with the Joe Biden’s Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award on November 12, 2021, in Houston, Texas at The Bougainvilleas at 2126 Westheimer Rd. 7 pm – 11 pm.

Lifetime achievement awards are presented by various organizations offered in multiple levels and are designed to recognize key milestones of service achievement. Levels include bronze, silver, gold, and the highest honor, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for those who contribute more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime.

Lifetime achievement awards recognize contributions over the whole of a career, rather than or in addition to single contributions. Trae has notably dedicated his life to service, linking together a seemingly unending ribbon of acts of great sacrifice and kindness.

This year’s honorees include Officer Tommy Norman, nationally renowned for his unwavering dedication to his community of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and rapper Trae Tha Truth, known for his activism, humanitarianism, and passion, and virility as a leader of various community initiatives throughout the United States. Nominated by members of their community, these outstanding individuals are just two of many honorees who have worked tirelessly in their service for humanity and inspiring the people around them to strive for greatness.

Trae has been recognized by Billboard magazine, which honored him earlier this year with the ‘Change Maker’ Award. Presented to him by Houston’s own Tina Knowles, Trae’s compelling speech was broadcast live to millions of viewers.

In October 2021 Trae was named on Ebony Magazine’s “Power 100” list; accepting the honor in Beverly Hills along with his esteemed peers.

According to Trae, “Being honored for the work that I do is nice, and always appreciated, but I find reward in seeing my people safe, thriving and receiving the justice and fair treatment that we all are entitled to”.

Trae has worked tirelessly on the frontlines with Until Freedom, fighting for justice for Breonna Taylor and her family. He collaborates with fellow Houstonian Beyonce’s Bey Good Foundation to meet the needs of underserved communities and works side by side with attorney MiAngel Cody’s Decarceration to bring home people who were unjustly sentenced to life in prison for drugs.

Through his own philanthropic, non-profit organization Angels by Nature, Trae and partner DJ Mr. Rogers serves thousands of families affected by natural disasters, Covid-19, and financial disparity.

In July 2021 He and his longtime friend and business partner Roderick Batson opened an ice cream franchise in Katy, TX, which employs special needs adults. Trae and Rod donated $20K worth of ice cream to the inmate population of Harris County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility to send a ray of hope and reminder to even the most polarized of our society that someone still cares and that we all deserve to be acknowledged and shown an act of kindness.

Most recently Trae answered the call of a little league football team “The Cru”, home to hundreds of young men – in need of uniforms, equipment, and other resources. Trae became aware of a deeper call for local support among these and started his own organization; ABN Youth Sports to meet the need of young athletes. According to Trae, “ABN Youth Sports is about more than football, it’s about opportunities for these young men to engage in their communities, spend quality time with one another and adult mentors who care. ABN Youth Sports is more like a family and just a sports activity.”

Even with all that’s on his plate, Trae has no intention of slowing down – and is poised to jump into action should the need arise.
