Foot Locker Exclusive: New Balance 574 LDG Ma Divina by Louis De Guzman
New Balance and Louis De Guzman, the Filipino-American visual artist based in Chicago, team up once again for the latest collaboration of the New Balance 574 model dedicated to De Guzman’s mother and her love of flowers aptly named “New Balance 574 LDG Ma Divina.” For the artist’s second release with New Balance, Louis dedicates the collection to his mother Ma Divina and draws inspiration from his colorful childhood memories to create the canvas for the latest 574 model. The collection will be available exclusively at Foot Locker and Champs Sports.
In the early 90’s, a young Louis would accompany his mother at craft shows in the Chicagoland area where she would arrange and sell floral bouquets. Louis would spend hours attempting to depict his mother’s creations in crayon or colored pencils. Now, as an adult, Louis is still drawing inspiration from those bouquets as he applies his color palette to the classic silhouette.
The New Balance 574 LDG Ma Divina features a mix of suede and leather materials that are color-blocked in De Guzman’s signature color pallet. The shoe also features snippets of De Guzman’s artwork which serves as an extension of his ongoing body of work, In Between The Lines.
In celebration of the release and as an homage to his mother’s love of flowers, Louis has designed an experience in Chicago to be hosted within the 2nd floor of Foot Locker’s State Street location entitled “Ma Divina’s Flower Shop” where collectors can come to purchase a limited allocation of the LDG 574 Ma Divina prior to the global Foot Locker release, while supplies last, between March 19th and 20th, 2022.

A vivid reference point that lit the match and amplified the body of work as to what is seen present-day through the various works of paintings and sculptures. As a child, my mother would attend local craft shows and put her creative flow to work to help make ends meet. It was her way to openly express herself and share the inner thought process through her various love of DIY crafts and flower arrangements. Her love for detail and exposing me to that energy as a child helped broaden my perspective and amplified the artistry that I’m beyond humbled to be continuing to put forth each and every day. A structural and curated paint palette to evoke inner emotions applied towards the iconic New Balance 574 in which has been freshened up with elements of detail has all synced to introduce those same rooted values through this footwear piece. The New Balance 574 LDG Ma Divina will be released globally through footlocker.com & champssports.com on March 24th, 2022, suggested retail pricing of $85 USD MSRP.
