Lil Texas to Debut First EP ‘The Afters’ Under Techno Alias Diamond Dallas Tex via mau5trap

A lucid purveyor of the sounds of the underground, Diamond Dallas Tex is the techno alter ego of hardcore artist Lil Texas. After releasing lead single “Elevate” to critical acclaim in early May of 2022, Diamond Dallas Tex excitedly unveils his high-octane debut body of work under his new alias, The Afters. The Afters EP is available on Friday, May 27 via mau5trap.

After being asked to spin industrial and hard techno at a kink-friendly after hours party, Diamond Dallas Tex was born and welcomed to the dark side of the American dance music scene. In 2019, Diamond Dallas Tex became a viral sensation during his headlining set for Space Yacht at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles. As he closed his techno set with an exclusive hardcore cut from his Lil Texas alias, one attendee responded by climbing up to the DJ booth and sticking her thumb down at Diamond Dallas Tex himself to tell him “IT’S TOO FAST.” The video prompted hundreds of thousands of views across social media, which even led to Space Yacht designing a T-shirt aptly dubbed the Too Fast Tee.

Now, Diamond Dallas Tex makes his mau5trap and full techno debut with The Afters EP, a 4-track display of Tex’s venture from hardcore to techno. Explorative, yet uniquely Tex in its entirety, The Afters is a powerful showcase of techno production prowess from the known hardcore producer. “This record represents my journey into the world of techno over the past few years,” explains Diamond Dallas Tex on his new body of work. “The 4 tracks gradually increase in BPM to represent the feelings and stages of the underground atmosphere.” This past weekend, Diamond Dallas Tex performed at EDC Las Vegas at mau5trap’s takeover of the Rynobus art car.

The Afters EP is available tomorrow, Friday, May 27 via mau5trap.
