Jack McBrayer On The Apple TV Series “Hello Jack! The Kindness Show,” OK Go, Second City & More

Last month, it was announced that acclaimed series Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show would be returning to Apple TV+ for an all-new special and 4 original shorts, all of which set to debut on June 24, 2022. In this special, as created by Emmy Award nominee Jack McBrayer (30 Rock, Phineas & Ferb, the Wreck-It Ralph franchise) and Daytime Emmy Award winner Angela C. Santomero (Blue’s Clues, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood), and written by Santomero and Emmy Award winner Jill Cozza-Turner (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Get Rolling With Otis), Jack and his friends will set out to solve a kindness mystery. The 4 shorts also feature Jack’s interviews with real kids about their extraordinary acts of kindness, with Jack ultimately declaring them official “Kindness Ambassadors” within their own hometowns.

Prior to finding success with Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show, McBrayer first made national waves as a sketch regular on Late Night With Conan O’Brien. The Second City alum became a star in portraying Kenneth Parcell on all 7 seasons of NBC’s 30 Rock. As if being a lead in one of the all-time great sit-coms was not enough, McBrayer has become an in-demand voice actor for animated films and television shows and appeared in dozens of films and television projects. He has found success in other media, starring in a West End theatrical production of Waitress in London, doing a voiceover for a major publisher’s audiobook, and making a cameo in a popular Mariah Carey music video.

On June 14, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jack McBrayer via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show, we talked about journey to success, training at Second City, career goals and music. More on McBrayer and his Apple TV+ series is here, here and here.
