0The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Honors “Heroes of the Freedomsurrection” in LA Installation
Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah unveiled a monument installation honoring the “Heroes of the Freedomsurrection” at LA’s Westfield Century City mall. The LA exhibit includes two new never-before-seen monuments in addition to the original eight monuments that were originally on display for a one-day pop-up in NYC earlier this year on January 6, 2022 – the one-year anniversary of the Capitol Insurrection. The exhibit pays tribute to the “heroes” most responsible for inciting the violent, anti-democratic riots, including Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Tucker Carlson.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’s “Heroes of the Freedomsurrection” installation extends The Daily Show’s famous brand of television satire into the physical world, giving people a new way to experience the iconic 25-year-old show.
Each six-foot-tall monument features a bronze plaque with an inscription detailing each figure’s part in fomenting the insurrection, with The Daily Show’s trademark humor infused throughout. In a nod to the ongoing debate over Confederate monuments across America, The Daily Show seeks to cement in stone the legacy of ten people who fought against America on January 6th… and lost. The exhibit description includes a sarcastic plea to the public: “Please don’t tear down these monuments, because history.”

In January 2020, the show aired a Jury Duty orientation video on local morning and evening news broadcasts in the DC market, while also streaming the video on digital mobile billboards, and on Captivate (i.e., elevator TVs) inside government agencies throughout the DC area.
In addition, in December 2019, with coverage of the President’s impeachment in the news, the show placed a full page ad in The Washington Post Sunday edition on the back cover of the main news section that also saw prime placement in Times Square, NYC.
In June 2019, Trevor and the team brought their Presidential Twitter Library to DC in honor of Trump’s birthday. To make sure Trump was aware of this special gift, the message was sent via his favorite and most trusted news source – Fox News Channel. An ad inviting Trump to celebrate his 73rd birthday at the award-winning installation ran in the Washington, D.C. market on Fox & Friends and Hannity.
