Who is the Wrinkles Club?

Established in 2019, The Wrinkles Club is an established kennel that breeds purebred English Bulldogs. Its goal is to provide healthy, happy, and show quality English Bulldogs. The club’s dogs live as loved family pets and are hand-raised from birth. Their sociability, health, and happiness are our secrets to success and integration into their forever home. The Hype Magazine had the opportunity to catch up with founder Chad Turner about future endeavors for the Dallas, Tx. Kennel.

Hype: Where are you from and when did you first fall in love with
hip-hop?

I’m from a small town in Arkansas called Ozan. The population of 60 people is so really small. I first fell in love with Hip Hop at a young age just growing up watching 106 & Park and Rap City just seeing people who look like me and finding success in their lane was motivation. And the hip hop culture plays a role within my community from clothing to slang it’s pretty much all I knew.

Hype: Who are your early influences and inspirations?
Early influences in hip hop were Tupac. Always loved the way he was able to put a play on words and turn a negative situation into something positive.

Hype: What is the Wrinkles Club and why was it started?
The Wrinkles Club is a kennel that I and my wife started in 2020. I always had a passion for dogs I used to breed American Pit Bull Terriers in high school and it was something I enjoyed. Once I got older I started to look into bullies and bulldogs more. In 2016 I started to follow a lot of breeders on social media and noticed that a lot of them were living a luxury lifestyle by breeding high-quality dogs. So I saw it as something I would like to do because it fits me and it’s something I could be passionate about. I reached out to a guy in Atlanta named ChazGotti to purchase my first French bulldog. (He was later on Love and Hip Hop). He hit me back with a price of 7500 for a puppy. It caught me off guard at the time I had no idea that dogs were that expensive. I couldn’t do it at the time so I wrote it down in my 5-year plan to get my money right and get into dog breeding fast forward 4 years. Kind of had put it on the back burner but my wife came home one day from work and told me her coworker had English Bulldog puppies for sale at a good price. At this point in life had my shit together and cashed out and bought two from the lady and haven’t looked back since then.

Hype: What are some key qualities and pedigree?
Key qualities in my program are health and structure. These both can be achieved through the pedigree. Once you have the health and the structure right then you can play with the colors and make any color dog you want.

Hype: In this industry what does success mean to you?
Success in this industry is when you’re able to produce high-quality dogs that follow your vision and have other people love your dogs and your vision. It’s a good feeling when other people love what you’ve created. The overall goal is to create your own.
