RIAA TO PRESENT NEW EDITION WITH A PLAQUE COMMEMORATING THEIR ICONIC MUSICAL CONTRIBUTIONS

New Edition management and the Black Promoters Collective are proud to announce that the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) will honor the iconic R&B group New Edition with a pop-up exhibit in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their debut album Candy Girl on Sunday, April 16th, at 2:30 PM CST at the museum located at 510 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203.

The exhibit will be on display in the lobby gallery of the museum until June.

In partnership with 92Q, which is doing a massive ticket giveaway, this fan-focused event is offering NELifers and NMAAM subscribers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as they are a part of the pre-showing launch of the museum’s pop-up exhibit.

The live fan experience will include a live DJ remote from 92Q, a champagne toast by the NMAAM President/CEO H. Beecher Hicks III, and also a plaque presentation by RIAA commemorating New Edition’s forty years of greatness.

New Edition will hit the stage later that night at Bridgestone Arena for the Legacy Tour. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the show starts at 7:00 PM.

NEW EDITION hit the scene in 1983 with their iconic #1 debut album Candy Girl disrupting the music industry forty years ago. That same year, the album’s title cut knocked Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” out of the #1 spot on the Billboard “Hot Black Singles” chart.
