Eitan Noyze: Coming Strong and Blending Genres with ‘Hornography’

The elusive yet iconic music creator Eitan Noyze hits with his new instrumental album called Hornography which is about as close to the divine sound rating on a musical composition that is nuanced to the nth degree and successfully salutes the defining impact of the horn section in music. Including a visual and musical shout-out in the music video of the lead single, to one of the greatest trumpet players in music history, Dizzy Gillespie, Eitan Noyze has created what I would call an essential listening and educational piece in sound crafting. My friend who turned me on to Noyze got my attention saying, it reminds them of the “Special Herbs albums MF Doom put out back in the day.” The visual for the lead single is just a sample of the sound feast enclosed in this package and gives a glimpse at the depth of this powerful musical experience. Here’s an exclusive early look at the visuals!!!

The Path to Music for Eitan Noyze

Eitan’s passion for music stems from being a fan first. Witnessing the impact of playing the right song at the right time as a DJ ignited his desire to explore the world of music. His journey led him to delve into battling and turntablism, manipulating records to create unique sounds. Eventually, he ventured into music production, taking his artistry to the next level.

Influences That Shape the Craft

When it comes to his musical influences, Eitan cites renowned producers like DJ Premier, The Beatnuts, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Large Professer and Timbaland. As a DJ, Kid Capri stands out for him as the greatest party rock DJ, while the X-Ecutioners left an indelible mark as exceptional battle DJs and turntablists with a distinctive style.

Unveiling “Hornography”

Eitan’s latest project, “Hornography,” is an instrumental project that weaves together samples of horns from various genres and styles. Through this album, he showcases the versatility of different horn instruments layered over a hip-hop foundation dipped with Boom Bap and other key nuances that Hip Hop heads have felt over these past five decades of the genre. The entire project was crafted using the renowned Akai MPC 3000, imbuing it with a modern yet nostalgic sound. Inspiration for this album arose from his experiences at the “Soul in the Horn” party in New York City, where musicians and DJs would come together to perform brass-driven music across different genres.

Positioning in the Scene

Eitan envisions “Hornography” finding its place within the instrumental producer scene, where the beats themselves stand as the artists. Notably, the video for the track captures the essence of New York City with its jazz-inspired vibes, the city’s skyline, its grit, and uptown jazz culture and was strikingly  shot & edited by @the_infamous_oz.

Diving into “Whisper” with Eitan Noyze

Among the album’s standout tracks, “Whisper” holds a special place for Eitan. He took a familiar saxophone sample and flipped it in an unprecedented manner, creating a sound that strikes a perfect balance between a smooth, recognizable sax riff and hard-hitting boom-bap drums. The result is a unique blend of old and new that resonates with listeners.

A Message for the Fans

Eitan hopes that fans will wholeheartedly embrace his instrumental music, and he even dreams of his music being resampled, allowing him to contribute to the culture and art he holds dear.

Inside Brooklyn Noyze Lab

Established in 2015, Brooklyn Noyze Lab serves as Eitan’s studio. He built it from scratch with his own hands, where he engages in producing, recording, mixing, and mastering. Through word of mouth and referrals, he has cultivated his clientele, forgoing major advertising and relying solely on the quality of his work.

The Journey Continues

As for what lies ahead, Eitan plans to release more instrumental music while working on a collaboration album with MCs. He is also involved with Something D’Lux, a production company he started alongside childhood friend Zach Staggers, focusing primarily on Dancehall.
