The Golf Classic 2023: A Premier VIP Golf Outing Presented by Sports Illustrated
Sports Illustrated, in partnership with The Golf Classic, hosted a highly-anticipated VIP golf outing on July 10th at the prestigious Angeles National Golf Club. This annual event, with a 19-year history as one of the longest-running lifestyle golf events in the country, brought together sports enthusiasts, celebrities, and industry leaders for a day of networking, camaraderie, and competitive golf, all in support of UCLA Children’s Hospital.
The Golf Classic: A Legacy of Uniting Executives and Celebrities
Since its inception in 2004, The Golf Classic has provided a unique platform for executives and entertainment industry VIPs to connect, forge relationships, and engage in friendly competition while supporting charitable initiatives. Conceived by ENTER, a renowned experiential marketing agency, and curated by founder Zev Norotsky, the tournament has become a pioneering force in lifestyle-driven golf events, attracting influencers, athletes, celebrities, creatives, and elite figures from the entertainment industry.
A Star-Studded Lineup and Championship-Level Course
The Golf Classic brought together an impressive roster of talent, including special guest host Austin Reeves from the LA Lakers, NBA star Metta World Peace, Joe Haden, Charles Oakley, Evan Ross, Brody Jenner, and many others, totaling 120 participants. This illustrious gathering epitomized the event’s ability to bring together prominent figures from various industries.
Participants had the opportunity to showcase their skills on the championship-level Angeles National Golf Club course. This Par 72, 18-hole golf course provided unique challenges with its two lakes, one creek, and 54 bunkers, catering to players of all skill levels.

The Golf Classic 2023 featured an array of esteemed beverage partners, including pouring stations presented by Casamigos, Saint James Tea, Celsius Energy, Flying Embers Hard Kombucha, and Hello Soju. Guests were also treated to Mezcla and Liquid Death, while Drip Hydration Protein shots and a Hyperice massage area offered on-site wellness relief. OOKA showcased their revolutionary new doseable pod device, further enhancing the experience for attendees.
Innovative activations and partnerships added excitement to the event. Shock’d Golf balls and Golf Tournament Solutions’ Golf Cannon provided immersive challenges on the course, while Geometry offered commemorative branded towels for players. Crep Protect ensured golfers’ shoes remained in pristine condition, and Palm Golf Co provided fresh new golfing gloves. Goodr outfitted participants with their signature golf sport-designed sunglasses, adding style to the sunny day.
A Spectacular Culinary Experience and Exclusive Hotel Partnership
Beyond Meat delighted guests with an on-site food truck, accompanied by the popular Yeastie Boys food truck, serving up their signature specialty cuisine favorites. The official hotel partner for the tournament was the luxurious L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, providing an exceptional accommodation experience for attendees. Additionally, The Golf Classic introduced an auto partnership with BMW, adding a touch of luxury to the event.
Expanding the Legacy: SI Invitational and Future Events
Following the success of The Golf Classic in Los Angeles, ENTER and Sports Illustrated will continue their collaboration with a marquee golf event ahead of Big Game Weekend at TPC Summerlin. The second annual SI Invitational will take place on February 8th in Las Vegas, promising another unforgettable experience for participants.
