Hailing from Brooklyn, Melanie Charles, a distinguished artist, will assume the role of guest artist curator for this season’s BRIC JazzFest. Charles, whose artistry seamlessly traverses jazz, soul, and R&B, brings her unique vision and experience to the festival’s programming. Having collaborated with an impressive range of musicians including Wynton Marsalis, SZA, Mach-Hommy, Gorillaz, and The Roots, Charles’s creative prowess is sure to infuse the festival with an exciting and innovative energy. “Some of the most pivotal musicians are not only great technicians but are great connectors as well,” says Charles. “Mindful and intentional programming is integral to the experience of both the audience and performers, allowing the art to play its role in our society.”
