StartupStarter is a platform that encourages a new world of investors as well as educates new founders to leap into entrepreneurship.  Started in 2020 by Jose Barrera and Lorel Scott, their grasp on tech tools to communicate and inform has made the platform a huge success.  Due to the demand of their audience to host a live event came the idea for Investment Week.  Now in its second year, CEO, Joseph Barrera shared, “We didn’t want to host just another classroom style listen and drink coffee event, our vision was to bring innovation to the presentations.  By integrating art and tech we believe we have created an electric space that has been instrumental in the success of deals created last year and what we look forward to this year.”

Investors taking the stage include famed publicist turned blockchain trailblazer and investor, Michael Terpin, as well as Marlon Nichols, the VC behind companies like Pipe, Blavity, and Macro, which was named one of Fast Company’s 10 Most Innovative Companies in Hollywood. Other speakers of note include; Baron Davis and athlete Zion Clark who will be featured in a panel presented by Forbes Council and moderated by Shaq’s agent Leonard Armato, as well as Romeo Lacoste, the 30-year-old digital star who is the de facto tattooist to the world’s biggest stars such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Kendrick Lamar.

Other featured speakers and companies include executives from Disney, NBCUniversal,  Toonstar, the Web3 animation studio that recently made news for partnering with Mila Kunis to launch a Solana-based series, NASA, Gemini, Techstars, and Snapchat’s former Chief Strategy Officer, Imran Khan, who led the company through its IPO and also led the IPO for Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba.  As well as founders of iconic companies such as the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Aptera, the “TED meets Burning Man” conference Summit, and Boxabl, the company aiming to solve the affordable housing crisis armed with over $168 million in funding and famous for creating the tiny home Elon Musk lives in.

For investors looking for new ventures, the event features exhibiting companies such as a revolutionary RV startup capable of charging a Tesla while driving and a pitch competition, the StartupStarter Open, done in partnership with Tim Draper’s “Meet the Drapers” series.

COO and Co-Founder, Lorel Scott added, “We are excited to be partnering with Re: ImagineLA and to use The Future Factory space which provides cutting-edge production and state-of-the-art sound system for our event.  It is going to add a futuristic component that guests will feel as soon as they step into the event.  Attendees can expect mind-bending visuals, interactive art installations, and an atmosphere that will transport them to another dimension.”
