Cash Cobain shares highly-anticipated single “Dunk Contest” | ‘Pretty Girls Love Slizzy’ out now
Cash Cobain, the Grammy Next Generation Ambassador, has just shared his new single “Dunk Contest” – a highly-anticipated release ever since he premiered it during a guest appearance at The Lot Radio two weeks ago. Highlighting the playful nature of the track, Cash dedicates the song to the many women in his life, listing off several names and dedicating a unique slizzy sentiment towards each one. “Dunk Contest” is Cash Cobain’s first release of 2024, arriving just days after hanging out with Drake in NYC – again shifting the focus to his solo work – after having a career-defining year in 2023 that closed with the production of PinkPantheress’ “Nice To Meet You” (feat. Central Cee), which debuted at #20 on Billboard Hot 100 (he also starred alongside her in a nationally-syndicated Apple commercial for the new MacBook).
This was preceded by producing Drake’s “Calling For You” (feat. 21 Savage), which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, DJ’ing at Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack x Audemars Piguet event, and releasing his critically-acclaimed debut solo album Pretty Girls Love Slizzy with Giant Music. After being named one of the “50 Innovators Shaping Rap’s Next 50 Years”, and having his track “Vacant” named one of the “100 Best East Coast Hip-Hop Songs of All Time” by Rolling Stone, Cash Cobain used 2023 to live up to these accolades.
