Emerging R&B sensation Raquel, known as @raquelllkhan on social media, makes a bold entrance into the music scene with her inaugural EP, ‘Wishing on Stars.’ The Toronto-born singer and pianist, immersed in music since the age of 4, showcases her talents after years of participating in musicals, singing and piano competitions, and professional piano performances.
Eclectic Blend of RnB/Pop and Electronic Vibes
‘Wishing on Stars’ is a 6-track EP offering a fusion of RnB/Pop and electronic sounds. Highlight tracks, including the previously released “With You” featuring TVGUCCI, “Angel” featuring Kofi, and “Make You Mine,” guide listeners through a musical journey that is both expressive and multidimensional.
Soulful Reflections on Nature’s Elements
The EP provides a soulful and distinctive insight into Raquel’s world, drawing inspiration from elements of nature such as space, the night sky, sunsets, and stars. Raquel shares, “I was able to release ‘Wishing On Stars’ within just a few months of entering the music industry, so it’s a project that I’m proud of! There are also some incredibly talented featured artists on the album, making it a really enjoyable project to work on.”
A Celestial Connection: Raquel’s Musical Muse
Raquel’s affinity for incorporating nature in her music stems from her passion for astronomy and the natural world. Before pursuing music professionally, she was on track to complete a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics. Describing her songwriting process, Raquel explains, “When I songwrite, I tap into my inner emotions. I’m someone who looks at the stars at night; someone who loves the moon, sunsets, the ocean, lightning, thunder, and stormy skies. I love to reference these elements of nature in my songwriting. Nature and space are compelling and beautiful to me, serving as my muse to create art.”
