Tour: Greg Holden to tour with Ingrid Michaelson in June

New York-based singer-songwriter also on tour this spring with Delta Rae

Holden’s debut album for Warner Bros. Records, “Chase The Sun,” out April 14th

Singer and songwriter Greg Holden has announced that he will join Ingrid Michaelson for a string of shows in June. Prior to that, the New York-based Holden will tour with Sire recording artists Delta Rae, beginning April 9th in Philadelphia and continuing through early May. Holden is fresh off his run of shows at SXSW, being named one of 10 Breakout Performers by Austin Monthly, with Yahoo! proclaiming him “an idol in his own right.” He also just performed a sold-out show at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles. Please see below for all upcoming tour dates.

Holden is touring in support of Chase the Sun, his upcoming debut for Warner Bros. Records, which will be released on April 14th. Produced by Greg Wells (Adele, OneRepublic), Chase The Sun is filled with Holden’s passionate, purpose-driven rock songs, which brim with tough, vibrant energy and showcase his lean, literate songwriting. Watch the Chase The Sun album trailer here.

The press has already begun weighing in on Chase The Sun. Says Nylon:

“…rare is a singer-songwriter who can actually touch the lives of another person with raw, emotional lyrical poetry (if you will). You have your Alanis Morissette, Stevie Nicks, Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell, Sia… and now, Greg Holden. And while you may not be all too familiar with the latter, chances are, you will be soon.” Buzzfeed writes: “Greg Holden…makes soaring, purpose-filled songs that carry real emotional weight.”

Holden has earned a name for himself as an independent artist for the last several years, releasing two albums, 2009’s “A Word in Edgeways” and 2011’s “I Don’t Believe You.” His song “The Lost Boy” – a poetic rumination inspired by a Dave Eggers’ novel about a Sudanese refugee – hit No. 1 on iTunes in Holland and raised over $50,000 for the Red Cross. Within two weeks of being featured on Sons of Anarchy, “The Lost Boy” sold 30,000 downloads in the U.S. and debuted at No. 36 on Billboard’s Rock chart. Holden also earned recognition for writing the massive hit “Home” – the debut single for American Idol winner Phillip Phillips that sold five million tracks in the U.S. and earned Holden an ASCAP Pop Award.
