Who is Ms Betty Crocka?

As you see your self, who is Miss Chi bka Betty Crocka?

The voice for women who aren’t afraid to express themselves. She’s LOUD!, outspoken, Independent, Bossy and a go-getta. I’m like the street spokeswomen for my sistas who been overlooked for so long because we don’t blend in, cater to the world’s perception of what and how a female artist should be or become, freely expresses my thoughts and opinions and don’t give a damn who likes it. It is what it is! #She’sDope

What brought you to the entertainment industry and music specifically?

I was inspired to write by my brother Shunn -B- whom passed away Aug 3rd, 2013. He was a rapper/Ceo of Currency Flow records (independent label). He was gifted and multi-talented in so many ways that everything about him I wanted to be. Once I got older, he finally begin to take me seriously after I funded my own sessions and production. I was coming so hard lyrically at 14, people were thinking he was writing my music for me. He finally gave me an opportunity to shine and featured me on his radio hit single “Suga Daddy” which also featured my cousin BIG BULL and aired on Power 92.1. And every since then I been -N- GrindMode!

What and/or who influenced the sound you bring today?

I grew up in the 90’s. I was familiar with the hottest camps at that time like No Limit, Tripple Six Mafia, and later the Hot Boys. I always traveled back and forth from Ms to Chicago so I had been exposed to different sounds at an early age like Twista, Do-or-Die and Psychodrama. From all of that overall I was more impacted by Mia-X-, Gangsta Boo and La Chat. Why? Because those girls were Gangsta. That type of music was all my folks listened to and pushed. So to see them women holding up on tracks with them heavy weights like Master P, Mystical and Dj Paul and them other boys….. I was captivated. When I heard them girls spit, chills came over my body. str8 up.

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

Nominations for awards in my territory where I have branded and marketed my independent label pushing my music, Radio personalities and Dj’s supporting and assisting me with the process of getting my music on airway, direct cd sales and products to fans, women telling me different places I done went to promote or perform “WE LOVE YOUR MUSIC”.

What was the biggest obstacle in getting to your current career phase?

Accepting the reality that I may not be accepted or embraced for being who I am, and what I bring to the table. I look around in the game and i don’t see me? No where, so I know because there’s more so many copycats and “Act-a-likes” the barrier to brake will be much harder. My brother was my biggest Fan and we used to battle at this approach all the time. When I lost him, I lost me. It took me a whole year to bounce back from his death and become back self-motivated and inspired again.

What do you want people get from your music?

That women are just as hungry, self-motivated, ambitious, and some go harder lyrically then man. I want the title of Female rap to be removed! Music is music. I hate when people categorize the craft! I believe in a world where you can be anything, Be yourself. That’s what I want people to respect about me and my music. If you don’t like it, respect that I can create my own lane and ride out!

Tell us about your current project?

The single “Follow” (Money Walk) is bossy, fun, energetic and realistic! I feel it going to be a hit with the club because the hook is catchy and the beat is a banger! s/o to Trigga Man for the production of the single. But the meaning behind the song is -Stepping your game up- . Either you’re gonna be a follower of you’ll have followers. In order to have followers, you gotta have your shhh tight. A Boss has their priorities in order without a doubt. Song simply states that yet calls out those who are impostors (Which are followers because their pretenders)

What do you feel has been your greatest life achievement so far?

Being a proud mother of 2 handsome little boys whom I’m raising with my husband Mr.Fast Money, which you’ll hear about him soon. He’s an artist as well. Also, managing and owning my own independent music business which enable me to produce and publish my own music. That freedom can’t be bought!

If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Hands down i would say Tupac, simply because He owned freedom of speech. He didn’t care if you liked it or not. Pac was gone say it and there was nothing no one could do about it. You couldn’t control him. I desire that same outlook and respect as an artist. I know I could hold up on a track with him because my delivery, lyrics, and presence on the track would reign dominance as a spokeswomen, that collab would be sick. Call the doctor!

If you had to pick one song of yours, that really explains YOU, what would it be?

I couldn’t just pick one its a few, but a top favorite would be “Put on” released off my Roc-A-Bye Baby mixtape. It explains the inner me and my grind I put out in the streets but feels under-appreciated, over-looked, and yet still awaiting my TURN!

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…

I would have to say when i had my first performance in Florida at a night club, and I looked out in the crowd and saw a few chicks wearing like flip-flops. I was like hell naw? At the night club? …. But aye do you! I mean I’ll wear some fresh Jays’ or some but you’ll never catch me in no Flip Flops. I’m too Dope for that!
