3D The Boss, is a health and fitness pop duo that has an inspiring three-dimensional approach, which addresses issues of unhealthy self-image, unconscious messaging and imbalanced role models.

Tell us about your current project?

3D The Boss is currently wrapping up post production on their newest worldwide release and video “Merry Go Round.” What is exciting about this video is that it’s a mixture between The Matrix and “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. On a H.Y.P.E. Tip, we created a spin on The Matrix by re-contextualizing what the agents represent. How We Perceive Everything is through a lens of health and fitness ie. energy. So, in our video the agents represent our fears and limitations that cause us to play small and stay safely tucked away in our comfort zone. C.Lei Boss Lady is the new Neo, representing the awakening of the feminine power and The.O represents Morpheus, who is there to support the divine goddess. We feel that the power of women is the “Next To Blow” and the role of the male energy is to confidently support it. The rest will be history. Stay tuned.

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

We both experienced obesity as a result of the stresses of this industry. Late nights, fast food, cocktail parties and a plethora of let downs were all of the trappings of the industry that adversely impacted who we were becoming. We both took a step back and put first things first by shifting our perspective on ourselves, others, and life through playing the YourDay Balance Game. Now more than ever we are excited about sharing this healthy perspective with the industry, and if need be, talk about it. This industry is ripe for our movement, our music and who we are being because the music industry is dying and it’s not the music.

What makes you the next great happening?

They often say that good is the enemy of great because in order to be amongst the best in the world you’ve got to give it everything you’ve got just to have a shot. 3D The Boss has no delusions about what it’s going to take to be amongst the best. You’ve gotta have great music a great image and a great story. However, the industry is still saturated with these people. Although we possess all three, what we feel will make us the next great happening is who we are becoming, ie. our character. 3D invests just as much time in our self-mastery ie. health and fitness as in our music and performance and we feel that this is paramount in order to have meaning and sustainability within a dog-eat-dog environment that tends to be superficial. And as we all know, the formula for greatness is a high level of performance and delivery over a long duration of time. As health and fitness pop stars we have a unique delivery that is purposeful and we will be giving it to you for a long time.

Are your currently signed to a label or have any situation in the making?

There are always situations in the making even when we don’t know that they are in the making. However, 3D is currently signed to YourDay Messengers LLC. which is an independent music label that is associated with the YourDay Balance Game, YDBG Inc.

Who and what are your influences?

The.O: I have always been inspired by the Fugees, Black Eyed Peas and Michael Jackson.
C.Lei Boss Lady: I was inspired by Janet Jackson, Prince and one of my favorite pianists is Kenny Barron.

What should people expect from your upcoming 2016 projects?

We will be releasing our first EP and complete another four videos. We will also make a big push towards touring at colleges and music festivals around the nation, from SXSW to the National NACA Convention.

Is there anything you would like our readers to know?

3D The Boss is part of a bigger movement called the YourDay Balance Game. This health and fitness lifestyle has been developing for the past 16 years and is about to be broadcast to the mass market in 2016 via an app and the internet. 3D The Boss is the spokesperson for this Game that is due to launch in January 2016 and we are excited about the possibilities of partnering with other big health and fitness campaigns such as Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move. Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…

We stayed up all night on a Friday rehearsing our show until 5:30 in the morning from a 7pm start. We danced for at least three of those hours. Since we always run 4 miles every Saturday morning at 7:30am as a lifestyle practice, we left the studio and ran 4 miles in the dark, “where they do that at?” Especially in the music industry?!
